Will Wolfire ever get Lugaru on consoles or handhelds?

The place to discuss all things Lugaru.

Should Wolfire make lugaru a next/current-gen console and handheld game?

My ps2 doesn't work, so it wouldn't matter even if it was released on ps2.

We probably could get a copy, but I have to agree with everyone else... I couldn't imagine playing without a mouse.

Does your Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii work? I just want to check with you before we entertain any other console deals. (just kidding)

360. Yes.
Xbox. Yes.
DS. Yes.
N64. Yes. (odd that the PS2 broke first)
Gameboy advance SP. yes.
PS2. No.

thats all I got. But either way, lugaru just doesn't fit as a concole game.

Is it possible to enable joystick support? I just want to see what lugaru plays like with a controller. Also, could we see what it looks like on the ps2 if you get a copy?

Wow.

And I thought the PS2 had rather good graphics capabilities…

I wonder if they smoothed out the models.

The only console I have here is a PS1.

It would be good because then instead of having a shareware [otherwise known as not a full game but instead a smaller game that is not an official one] game we would have a game that could have awesome graphics, thousands of moves, levels, terrains, a ton of new editing tools, multiplayer online and console lan, and much more etc...
I call bull. I am the proud owner of a Wii, and I'm picking up a PS2 sometimes this week for Rogue Galaxy.

Besides, adding awesome graphics, thousands of moves, levels and multiplayer doesn't magically happen when you move a game over to console. It requires work. Lots of work. If Wolfire could pull L2 off on Xbox360, I might be interested, but I like my keyboard and mouse.

That's what I meant! That a ton of more stuff would be added because it would a funded game! It would be so awesome if we could go to a store and buy lugaru on a cd or play it on a console or go on a trip in a car, and pop it into your handheld device.

Okay, but it's not like "let's do this!" and one month later, you break necks on your PSP. There's a lot to do. Great experience you gain from it as a dev, but it probably won't pay financially.

And indy games are not anything big stores like Walmart or EB Games would love to support (reasons? multiple), so the chance of getting there with your CD is pretty slim. Besides, since the commercial success would undoubtedly be very low because of no financial base for serious advertisements, all those CDs would be wasted money. You'd have to rise the price to compensate and the game would be too expensive. Or you'd have to lower the price to get to the people and your publisher will get the missing bucks from you.

If you want Lugaru on a CD for some reason, burn your own one. That's the beautiful simplicity of the next gen of direct marketing on the internet :P

I see your point. I hope wolfire eventually may become more than an independant developer, but I'll just have to wait.... and wait... and wait..... and die.... and it comes out a year later....... the end..... boo hoo for me...

I wish that I could get a ps2 copy of the game. I just don't think that that's possible, unless of course you're willing to buy it from him, if he allows, which he 90% probably won't.

In other words:

Don't Count On It.

I don't think Lugaru would really fit on any console, but if it did, it would have to be the Wii 2. :P
