First, before you download ANY mod you have to back up the files, to do that just copy+paste somewhere safe.
The folder that says "this goes in textures" or something like that, go in there, then copy/cut all the stuff inside that and put it into textures. Then the same with "this goes in maps" ect. ect.

Remember to take backups if there is overwriting involved.

Please be clearer or we can't help, and please calm down a bit sometime soon.
To backup your files, just copy & paste, option-drag, or whatever is appropriate and/or works on your OS your data folder (Simplest way, good for people not used to this sort of thing) or the appropriate folders within.

Lugaru is so small, so I always just extract a new Lugaru from the archive
(which I keep on my HD) for mods.

That's exactly what I do. It's not hard to keep track of your mods and backed up files

. Just think of the best way to stay organized, and you'll never get confused. Do that with everything you have/do. It'll make your life a lot easier, and you wont have to come and ask us for help anymore

.

To install Space Lugaru:
-put any folder whose name contains "skybox" from the mod into the "Textures" folder inside the "Data" folder which sits in your Lugaru folder;
-put any picture from the mod into that same "Textures" folder;
-put any maps in the "Maps" folder of "Data";
-the first few challenge levels are now Space Lugaru.
To revert to normal Lugaru, if you didn't make backups, you can always re-download.

The lightsaber replaces the sword. In order to use the Darth Maul skin you need to use debug (cf the wiki).
If your Data folder is messed up and you're not sure how, yes, the easiest thing to do reinstall. It's faster done than asked about.
