To those with Vista troubles

Post by Blorx » Thu May 03, 2007 3:01 pm

I've seen a post or two about this and...I can't tell ya exactly what to do for lag but, I've run through the demo with everything enabled and high detail with no lag and my PCs specs are:

HP Pavilion a1730n
Windows Vista Home Premium
AMD 64 Live 2.1 GHz
ATi Radeon X1300 512 MB VRAM
I'm not even sure what sound card

If it lags over and over, try a compatibility pack...these can be accessed by right-clicking the shortcut and going all the way to the bottom of the little list and clicking Properties. Then click the tab named Compatibility Check the box that says Run this program in compatibility for: Click on the name of the OS shown and a drop-down list should appear. Try using either Windows 2000 or Windows XP (Service Pack 2) any earlier versions may not let you run it and come up with a runtime or syntax error of some sort

It might also just be your comp...since you've got Vista, pull up the sidebar and add the gadget that has the CPU meter. Check the little meter/gauge to the right, if it's above 50%, you've either got too many processes going on or you just don't have enough RAM.

Another idea I've got is to go to the "Run Program" thing and type dxdiag exactly like that. It should tell you your computer specs. See if they actually meet the requirements.

Last idea I've got is that you pirated the freakin game and now you're suffering lag from spyware and/or viruses...in that case, all I can tell ya is RETARD

If it still doesn't work, I dunno...I'm out of suggestions

If your computer can run Vista, it's more than capable to run Lugaru, considering CPU power and RAM. I'm not so sure about the graphics card, some graphics cards driver's OpenGL implementation sucks, so it depends.

The problem is on Windows' side - bad OpenGL support. That's my theory.

Simplest solution: Reinstall WinXP. Send Vista back to Microsoft.

Or get an OS that does the job right without demanding money for nothing.
