Make that *mauled by mac users and one disgruntled PC user*. Seriously, windows has failed me time and time again. Besides, the PC doesn't even have a CMD button. My suggested solution is: If you're really having problems getting the in-game screenshots to work (I don't think Windows users can even do that since they don't have a Cmd button), use PrtScrn (Print Screen) instead, then go to Paint (or whatever art application Macs have), paste it in there and save it (preferably as a PNG, lowers the filesize while keeping the quality).invertin wrote:*mauled by mac users*
screenshot Help!!!
Dude, cmd=command.
Shift-command-3 is PrntScrn for MacOS.
(change that 3 to 4 and you can select the area to take a screenshot of)
The command (also called apple button since it has an apple on it)
is never used by itself, but only in shortcuts where Windows would use
I think control (which Macs also have).
For example, Firefox download manager in Windows would be control-j
while on Mac it's command-j.
Mac alt button is where Windows start menu button would be, and command
takes it's place.

Ahh, thanks for clearing that up. I have never actually used a Mac before so I didn't knowCrill3 wrote:Dude, cmd=command.

Cookies? That's just another reason to join the Mac side! Also I'm suddenly reminded of a comic strip from Rooster Teeth (the folks behind Red Vs Blue) about how all Mac Users go to hell XD it's kinda funny. I think that comic's title was "Sins of convenience" or something to that effect :3 I don't believe in hell (or heaven for that matter, I'm atheist/humanistDudeman wrote:When you do, let me say, "Welcome to Macs , the world of easy, simple solutions!"

Back to screenshots:
Since I upgraded to 10.4 (I'm on 10.4.9 now) I haven't had any problems with screenshots.
Previous to that, I often got shots that looked like they had been stripped together from several screens. That never happens now.
I know this requires upgrading, which requires money, but I can't help there.
I do sometimes get black screens, especially when taking a large number in a row to animate. This is almost always accompanied by a screech on my speakers (it's quite startling). Once in a while there are a lot of them. When I have that happen, I sort them out by:
- Opening a window showing the desktop
- Sorting by the date
- Putting all the screens I just took in a folder
- Sorting by size (all the black ones are 4 KB)
- Selecting all the 4KB files and sending them to the trash.
I've tried Snapz and a couple other screen capture programs, but I still prefer CMD-Shift-3 (4 doesn't work for me in Lugaru). Sometimes I get in a situation where I have to press the screen sequence while holding other keys, which can be humorously awkward.
I would like a good video capture set up though; sometimes I'd like to get a longer sequence than a GIF will handle, or maybe do a movie of a full level.
