this has made me sad, lugaru gone!!!!!

Post by nerodx » Sun Jul 29, 2007 10:41 pm

well, my computer just exploded and we had to like, completely restart it, so i had to back up everything which took about a day (then i went to dave and busters so it was cool.) but when i went back, i put everything back on which took more time, my internet explorers been downgraded (IF ANYONE KNOWS URL TO GET THE NEWEST INTERNET EXPLORER PLEASE TELL ME!!!!" but i kept looking around, trying to find the places on my last toolbar of links and decided to check my games, everything worked fine till BUM BUM BUM!!! LUGARU didn't work!!!!!! it said " The drive or network connection that the shortcut 'lugaru folder.lnk' refers to is unavailable. Make sure that the disk is properly inserted or the network resource is available, and then try again." Exactly. someone smart please help cause sadness isn't fun. suggest paying 20 bucks again and die. now then, i must get rid of my pleasant hil like backround and replace it with some giant wad of crap that i cant even tell what it is before i go crazy.

Can't you just keep your preferences file and redownload Lugaru?
BTW:
http://www.microsoft.com for Internet Exploder
or...
http://www.mozilla.com for something better...FireFox.

Another thing would be try and find the program the shortcut points to.

It looks like the shortcut just got corrupted to me…

Wait a second, that's not a shortcut… In that case, just see if Lugaru is still on your hard drive. I don't really know exactly what the problem is…

I know what it is now…

Just redownload Lugaru and email David (Or Jeff, doesn't matter really.) to give you a serial for it. Be sure to provide the credit card holder's name (As it appears on card, that's usually best) or some other info, however.

This worked for me when I accidentally mucked up my copy of Lugaru messing around with the data folders 'n' stuff. Not sure if that was because of the info I gave or the fact I'm a well known guy around here and have already posted several Lugaru maps on the wiki, though. Oh well, try that, hopefully Zeus and Hades (As we should call them now, considering one is an evil twin…) can help.

What do you mean when you say your computer exploded? And how exactly did you fix it? That error says that the entire drive that the shortcut is pointing to is not found, i.e. it was pointing to the D drive or a cd-rom or something and that drive is not there.

and he is watching...

What "Zues" said makes the most sense to me, but it doesn't make any sense...

Oor... does the shortcut point to like the H drive when it doesn't exist? I had an H drive when my computer went boom, and when I put the H drive in my new computer... it said it was the F drive so you might have to redo your shortcuts?

ok, it didn't really explode thats just my expresdsion for everything that dies, this is what happened, everytime we tried to open the internet it would open but then imediately close itself, so we had to wipe our computer clean and then put everything back on.

oh and uh...small words please...remember...stupid.... so yeah i'll try that serial thing.
