CircleMUD should compile without issues on Mac. I ported ROM a while ago too but I don't use it.
As for the "modding" guide, you can't change Lugaru's core functionality. You can however make your own maps and clothes.

Well, I went to the site and it had no download, registration, etc. whatsoever. Also could I use DikuMUD just the same? Better question, ok, I've found lots of downloads for CircleMUD, now which one(s) do I download for Mac? To answer your other question, I would like you to upload the Map making guide AND the Clothes making guide.

dikuMUD does the same type of thing, but that's because circleMUD is derived from diku. seriously. if you can't find the link for the download, i doubt you'd have any sort of chance at making a LAN version of lugaru, friends or otherwise. besides that, i dont see the purpose of creating a MUD version of lugaru. the sheer difference between a single-player, 3d action/adventure game and a text-based MMORPG seems to be too large of a gap to cross easily.

I wouldn't say that, there have been several extremely fun muds based on the AvP games.

I honestly want to make this because well... it's fun. Making games is something i've been waiting to do! :D

Earlier on ppl have said that mp is impposible due to lag, but...

How about Aspyrs games huh? Tons of free dev code available! MOD SDKs! There has gotta be a lot of stuff in there to help you! Try the jk2 mod sdk, i could send it to you, jk2 has great mp. So does JA.

Mods don't really have netcode and even if they did, looking at some other games code is not useful.

I don't think the Jedi Knight mod SDK would be of much help with Lugaru.

hey, just suggesting ideas of the top of my head! but lugaru, would be really cool on lan. I remeber, at one of old schools, we used to play massive cromag rally lan games. if you made lugaru lan compatible, then you could sell it with a site license to schools and stuff
