Come on guys, you've got to consider what they're actually doing here. First, they need to tell the game that a rabbit exists. Then they've got to tell it what it does, and exactly how it does it. Then they need to make buttons make the rabbit do those things. Right, that part is almost done. Now they've got to tell the game that the rabbit does different things based on the situation, how many enemies are around, what weapons he's carrying, what direction he's facing, what button he's pressing, and THEN they need to make other rabbits that do other things depending on where the player is what weapon they're carrying, etc. etc.

Then they've got to do that again for every single race. And possibly Turner if he has his own fighting style.

Making a game is HARD and TAKES TIME. It's not like using Game Maker or freaking RPG maker. They are coding this thing from SCRATCH.

I'm going to go google to see how long some professional titles were in development for, then I'm going to edit this post.

EDIT: Halo 1 was ANNOUNCED in 1999, and RELEASED in 2001. It was probably in production way before 1999, and it took MORE THAN TWO YEARS for a FULL TEAM of TRAINED AND PAYED DEVELOPERS to make that damn thing.
