Fedora 10 seg fault

Post by pstahle » Thu Jan 01, 2009 11:32 pm

Hi,

I downloaded the demo game, installed it, and ran it. I get to the first screen ok, where it give me the following:
Enter:
Options:
Quit:

No matter what option I select I get the following Seg Fault:
[pstahle@pstahlelinux ~]$ lugaru
Xlib: extension "XiG-SUNDRY-NONSTANDARD" missing on display ":0.0".
Fatal signal: Segmentation Fault (SDL Parachute Deployed)

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated... I would like to try this game out....

Thanks,
Patrick

Hi,

forgot some details:
Fedora 10 64bit
Nvidia 7900 GS with drivers installed
3D seems to work well in other games like ETQW ect.

Thx,
Patrick

Hi,

My bad, just saw this has already been reported. I did do a search prior but used the wrong terms.... Anyways it would be nice to here if there is going to be a fix or not....?

Thanks,
Patrick

hahah you could have edited this into your other posts but I suppose it's understandable, I doubt there is going to be a fix unfortunately as David (the creator) is working diligently on Overgrowth. (the sequel) glad to see you wanted to try the demo and wish I could help.

The segfault happens on SDL's side, so you should expect a fix from the SDL team. And even if it was on Lugaru's side, since the Linux port is outsourced, you shouldn't expect a fix coming directly from here, but rather from icculus.
The bug's already reported, so rest assured that things will most likely get fixed.

Until it's fixed, you can always play Lugaru with wine. An alternative is downgrading SDL, although I wouldn't recommend that route.

This is not a linux support forum.
You necro'ed a year old thread.
The thread topic had nothing to do with your problem.
But I will help you anyway.

Register there, make a new thread there. It's a Fedora support forum. They should be able to walk you through it.

steven...it was a joke aimed at spambots. Also, why did you register just to ask that?
