Was running Lugaru on Athlon 1.8 Ghz 512 Mb RAM Radeon 8500 32mb RAM.
1024x768 full detail...
BUT WITHOUT motion blur. It just doesn't work. On my PB also.

What specs do I need to play with blur on?

Assuming we (me and Madd) are having the same Lugaru crash problem...
No, motion blurr is not turned on for me.

edit: I reinstalled Lugaru and it works again. Just turn Debug on and flame through the levels you already beat until David fixes it.

Fantastic game :D

However, I also am not getting motion blur, though otherwise the game is working great.

AthlonXP 1.3Ghz, 512MB RAM
GeForce 6600 on v71.89 nVidia drivers

Again, great work on the game, just want to help track down why motion blur isn't working in Windows.

I think it depends on the card.

For all those that are having issues, can you post your machine specs again including operating system. I have so far not been able to replicate this on any of the machines I have here. Most of you even have video cards that are stronger than my test machines.

Athlon XP 2200+ (1.8Ghz)
1GB Ram
Radeon 9700 Pro 128MB
Catalyst 5.3 (6.14.10.6517)
Windows XP Pro SP2

Athlon 1.3Ghz
1GB Ram
GeForce 4 TI4600
Windows XP Pro SP2

Two (2):
Sempron 2200
640MB Ram
Onboard Sis Video
Windows XP Pro SP2

Also if you can, as much information about how far you got or what you were doing or trying to do when things occured may be helpful.

Thanks.

Actually, I may have misinterpreted what it's supposed to do.

If motion blur is only supposed to happen when you're getting the crap kicked out of you and in those moments where you go into slow mo for a kill, then yes, it's working fine.

I thought it was supposed to happen all the time, after watching the online videos, but I was probably wrong.

So assuming it's only a special effect for sometimes, my only complaint is that fighting is HARD, and I suck at it.

You can turn it on all the time with the "real blur" option in the config, if you open the config.txt in wordpad.

Those are very high specs accept for the video card...I have a 32MB card also and runs WoW slower around more players because of this. *ponders* I suggest that you upgrade your graphics card or turn some stuff down...if the detail is not on high WITH decals, you will experience less blood...
(EDIT: It's VRAM, not RAM when you talk about a graphics card)

it's a video card's RAM, ok?

1)I can't upgrade the video card - it's my work machine.
2)This card is enough to play LOTR: BME, WarHammer 40k, and lots of other games at pretty high detail (with the help of the cpu etc. :))
3)Lugaru is VERY fast on that config. But WITHOUT motion blur. With it turned on - when blur kikcs in, the action pauses for a second... and then continues from the moment where blur effect ends.

It probably does not support the kind of render-to-texture routine I am using.

I understood it that way.

That's why I ask: What card do I need?

GeForce FX5200 Go doesn't work
Radeon 8500 - nope
[Edit: Even Radeon 9600 Pro can't show me blur]

What card? Newer? More memory? Do you have something like a list of supported cards?

I really don't know; it might have more to do with the drivers and OS version.

…and how the OS handles it.

Maybe it has something to do with luck? Or fate? Or whatever. Good morning, everyone!
