doh, not working anymore windowed or otherwise. now I just get a black screen as soon as I hit the shortcut, and a few seconds later it closes. no error message or anything. it was great while it worked though....
I'd try reinstalling it but I don't want to lose my scores. are they in a file I can easily backup?

removing config.txt didn't work. I backed up the users file and uninstall/reinstalled, and it worked fine with the default users file but when I put in the old users file (the one I backed up) it has the same problem again. So... I guess there is something wrong with my users file. Oh well... at least it works again.
update: i installed win2k on my main machine but lugaru still crashes at the same point
so the OS is definitely not the problem for me
the only other different things are:
the mainboard: Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe vs epox 8KHA+
the cpu: athlon 64 3000+ vs athlon xp 1700+
gfx card: club3d gf6600gt vs gf3 ti200
did anyone here get lugaru running with any of the components on the left side?

I've searched the entire forum and none of the solutions provided has worked as yet (and it seems that nobody has described quite the same problem):
The game runs just fine for a while each time (about 30 minutes at once was the longest I've gotten, it's usually about 5), then at a random point, just crashes the entire computer - and I mean REALLY crashes, I don't even get an error message or anything, the whole system just shuts off and restarts.
Here are my system specs:
Intel x86 ~2793 MHz
Win XP Professional SP 2
Radeon 9800 AGP Pro (Omega 2.6.53 Drivers)
1.5 GB RAM
I'm running the registered version of the game and have tried tweaking each of the config settings, resolution, window/fullscreen, etc.

Sounds like your RAM is not working correctly. Please test it. I recommend Memtest86, a stand-alone bootable memory tester.MadKing wrote:[...]then at a random point, just crashes the entire computer - and I mean REALLY crashes, I don't even get an error message or anything, the whole system just shuts off and restarts.

Use it, it does no harm if your RAM is alright. Even runs on a floppy disc. Just consumes time.
If your RAM is broken, it also does no harm, but tells you about it (the number of errors is > 0 then).
If your RAM is broken, it's time to check warranty...
I hope it's not broken, that is really annoying.
