Given that the campaigns aren't huge and that people generally have enough bandwidth, why not just include all the campaigns with the downloader?

Have it swap them out without ever needing the internet. It's not that hard an idea and would require no hosting with no risk of it ever "going down" do to losing that host it doesn't need.

If there are any, it could have a "load new campaign" option that let it load and store a new manually downloaded campaign.

I'm going to put the code up on Github tomorrow for you all to play with :-) that way anyone who wants to can implement their own ideas. I apologise in advance for the state of the code. I did write it when I was learning to code as a teenager... ;-)

That's great, thanks!

Don't worry about the state of your code, I've uploaded shitty / noobish / hacky code a bunch of times, and it's still in use somewhere, helping some dude doing a thing. That's what counts at the end of the day.

Also, I'm with tannim — some (preferrably most current) campaigns being included in it would be great. It additionally having the download path would still make sense for newer campaigns. That'd be a good opportunity for a code branch.

Just include all available campaigns. No need to just select a few. Even the biggest aren't very big.

I've managed to find all the code but I seem to have lost the build scripts. I've attached the code to this reply as a zip file. The code is licensed under the MIT licence, which essentially means do what you like as long as my name is kept in the licence file :-)

To get it running again you'll need to follow some of the instructions here:
http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air.html

I'm sorry it's been so long not working. To make sure it doesn't happen again the new developer should properly put the code on GitHub or something. I'm not sure who's going to take it over but I wish them the best of luck! Feel free to make any changes you like. Hopefully people find this tool useful again :-)
