So here's my first pass at the ambient snow music. I think it's probably too long, so we might trim it down to have the larger interesting things happen earlier. Or we could chop it up and make all the ambient tracks out of it.

Also, since I know many of you are more visual... I thought you might be interested in seeing my written sketch:

This one out of the three is probably the best... it works well in the gameplay and can easily transition to the action sequence!!!

It's definitely the one designed to do that ;)

I'll hopefully write another one like it later tonight for the desert levels. And I'm still planning on including some ice cracking noise. We'll see how it goes...

Freesound is great. As soon as I found out about it, I grabbed a recorder and made some contributions; some bike wreck and dumpster diving sfx. I frequently use the site for my films. I do think the rating feature is slightly amusing; I doubt many people use it.

All that blood in the video is from the game or just for the video?

So I finally had a little time today to write another track for this project. Here is another ambient track.

And the Ogg version: http://antonriehl.com/overgrowth/reddaw ... desert.ogg

I was able to incorporate some cracking ice sounds in there, but I still tried to do it musically, so it's not quite like a sound effect.

That is so cool. How do you link to your audio files like that on a forum? It doesn't work for me...

I'm hoping that you're saying the music is cool, and not my ability to link to files...
And if that's the case, then I'm glad you like it!

As for linking to audio files, just make sure you know the exact address of the audio file you want to link to, and type in the whole address. That's all I do...

I kinda thought the ice cracking sounded like fire. Still great, though.

Yeah, I kinda thought it sounded like fire too... but I like the way it works. There's also some more percussive elements that come from the ice cracking as well, but they are a little more hidden.
