Crash on GNU/Linux [XServer 1.8]

Post by maxijac » Sat May 08, 2010 6:04 am

Hi, I 've just bought the Humble pack and so far Lugaru does not work with my GNU/Linux configuration.
(I've tested, WoG, aquaria, penumbra and gish are working )

I'm using Xorg server 1.8 with nvidia 195.36.24 on a 64 bit system.
(md5 is OK)

I can access to menus but when I start a game it crashes while the screen is red (I assume it's loading screen)
Here is the error message :
X Error of failed request: BadLength (poly request too large or internal Xlib length error)
Major opcode of failed request: 136 (GLX)
Minor opcode of failed request: 1 (X_GLXRender)
Serial number of failed request: 33956
Current serial number in output stream: 33957

Does lugaru officially support Xserver 1.8 ?

Bye.

I have exactly the same crash, but on XServer 1.7.7 using the official Nvidia driver version 190.53, so I assume it's either a 64bit- or an Nvidia-related problem.

Hi,

cancel my message, I just found the fix for that. Turns out I hadn't installed the IA32 compatibility libraries from the Nvidia driver. Due to Lugaru being a 32bit program, it probably tried to use the 32bit GL libraries I had installed (the Mesa ones, I would guess), which resulted in a crash. On Debian (and Ubuntu, I assume), just install the nvidia-glx-ia32 package.

best,

Torsten

I had already installed my lib32 nvidia's libgl.

Would you post your xorg.conf and your Xorg log?

Use pastebin or attach them as a zip to a post
