Short Lugaru video

Post by Silb » Tue May 11, 2010 11:55 pm

Hey guys, the success of the Bundle and Lugaru have inspired me to record this short video. It shows some of what you can do once you know the game well.

Sorry for the terrible quality, I was short on time. There are lots of neat tricks if you pay attention though!

Congratulations to the Wolfire team!

I suppose I might as well repost this one here. Nothing really fancy, but it shows what you can do with the basic moves, and was, at the time, the highest recorded score for Challenge 14.

Good to see you back, Silb!

Possibly the craziest shit I've ever seen. Awesome fights you got there.

My advice for inexperienced players trying to learn a technique is to pick a challenge level where the technique can be done most easily, and just keep pumping it out on that level, on a lower difficulty if possible. At first I just figured that wall-kicks were so esoteric that they would never be worth the trouble that it takes to learn them. Now, unless I'm playing for points, the wall-kick (off trees, rocks, walls, anything with a high enough slope) is my default attack when battling multiple enemies. Remember to flip before you hit the wall, so that thou can actually land the attack, without them pulling you out of the air or dodging.

Perhaps one of the most useful things that a new player can learn is to pick up/retrieve a weapon while rolling. This will make any form of armed combat go much smoother, and can be used as a base for other techniques, such as the much-lauded knife-retrieval-slaying from a wolf or armored rabbit, or the tackle-disarm.

Definitely- learning that makes knives much more useful :P

Wow, you guys are good.

Silb, did I see that right on the level 13(?) run, that you gave a wolf a short punch so he paused, then just ran around behind him, drew your knife, and tracheotomy him from behind?

Starts right around 1:47, toward the end of the vid.

Awesome.

And always good to see h2ostra's work, too.

And you should definitely play Reluctant Assassin!
