Can't get any Lugaru footage or shots :(

I can't use PrntScrn, Cam Studio, Super Screen Recorder, all I get is my Desktop Background. I'm using Windows 7. Help!

Try Fraps.
Worked just perfect for me.

However, the trial only allows the clips to be recorded at a maximum length of 30 seconds.
You'll have to either pay for the software or download a cracked version. (less legal)

if you are creative you can record with Virtual Dub as well. But you must play the game at 640x480 to do so and record at same using Virtual Dub's Screen Recorder. Takes some practice and settings play to get it to work.If you have a decent video card, it may work better. My worthless intel and onboard radeon 3300 gpu can't do crap though so I'm stuck with the lowest stuff.

The problem with virtualdub is though that when it captures, it affects the game's speed, and the game affects virtualdub's capturing speed. Biggest indicator for this is the sound (it gets slower, which can be hilarious if you're recording your microphone at the same time). You can sort of work against that with CPU power / multicore processing though.

Yeah Fraps works like a charm for me. I was getting pissed because every time I tried to hit F10 it wouldn't take a screenshot and I was like WTF? You have to be in-game to take a screenshot.

Yeah, Fraps only works for "new window" applications.
It cannot record your desktop, or anything that isn't in a "new window".

With "new window" I mean something that opens up in a seperate window, like a game or a media player. I don't know what the exact restrictions are, I'm sure there is some way to work around it.

I am sure it has alot of valuable features and assets to you and alot of other people, but from my point of view they are all either unnecessary, or can easily be better covered by other softwares, like Fraps.

No. Unless you have a lot of money for professional software. Even then, you'd have to buy stuff together for true feature parity. virtualdub is pretty much unparalleled in its featureset.

uTorrent is a great friend of mine.

The only thing I have used VirtualDub for is to convert a videoclip recorded by Fraps into a more appreciated codec for Adobe Premiere Pro. And even after that, I realized it was not necessary.

Suggest some tasks you often use VirtualDub for, and I will concider doing the same.
