Whoa!

I pressed the windows key to minimize Lugaru while I was map-editing taday, and when I maximized it again... *Poof* Over-Shoulder Lugaru...

Why does everyone want to turn everything into Gears Of War?

GOW uses an over shoulder viewpoint. You wouldn't be able to play lugaru like it was in the shot I posted, it was very hard to see.

It's because I'm smarter, so I'm the only one who sees it. Everyone else is crazy.

Overrated game with boring art direction.

Also, it's MADE by a company called Epic Games, but the only epic game they made was Shadow Complex.

Yeah GOW is pretty mediocre at best honestly. The characters are about as well-developed as a fly larvae (and not in the funny redneck way ala Killzone 2, in the MEGASERIOUSHARDCORE annoying way ala typical 360 nerd), the story blows, and the gameplay is not exactly exceptional.

MOVING ON: Martial arts games just don't work with OTS views. Third person is always best :v But I guess it's cool.

AMENDMENT: Mirror's Edge did it very nicely with a first person point of view, but it's about the only game I can think of that has. I don't know any that have done it with OTS.

Hmm, Mirrors Edge looks and sounds pretty cool, I'll have to play it somehow...

Then again Mirror's Edge is more of a first-person platformer than anything else. It's still damn good though.
The one game I know of that was a true first-person fighting game was Breakdown on the old X-Box, and made by Namco: it was a bit rough around the edges, but once you got the hang of the controls, it's actually quite fun, if HARD. It doesn't help that the only enemies that are actually a threat are immune to all weapons but one, which takes pretty much all the ammo you can carry for it to down a single target.

I was wondering, after the camera went all screwy like that, did you actually managed to complete the level?

Unreal was pretty good too, but yeh, gears of war sucks
