Dialogue problem..

Hey people, just joined the boards, been playing Lugaru for about three months and I've started on trying to make my own campaign, which I'm hoping will turn out to be pretty awesome (: Well, it would be, but I can't manage to get any dialogue into it at all so far - the text doesn't display properly, and then it crashes. I've checked the wiki, followed all the instructions to the letter, but it's still not working for me.... Is there some secret magic word/trick that I don't know about when inserting dialogue into a level?

Beth

Well, it also works on Mac, but you'd have to compile Wine or get CrossOver Mac.

Of course, you should be able to get dialogues going without DEdit, but it sure helps!

CrossOver Mac is not for free. There's a 30-day trial though. You can get it here: http://www.codeweavers.com/products/cxmac/

If you feel adventurous and want to compile Wine instead of buying CrossOver Mac, you need MacPorts. http://www.macports.org/install.php
A walkthrough for installing that is here: http://guide.macports.org/

Once MacPorts is operational and up-to-date, install Wine with the following line on a terminal:
sudo port install wine
(This takes a long time)

Once Wine is installed, you can start DEdit from a terminal by going to the directory the .exe is in, and typing
wine Dedit.exe

The whole MacPorts installation + Wine installation process from start to end takes about an hour at the least, so embrace yourself.

Your mom had a dialogue problem when she tried tell your dad to pull out.

Lol sorry, couldn't resist, just being an arrogant fuck. Hope you solve your problem. ;)

What are you, bipolar? I mean, what a remarkably schizophrenic post you made there, it's quite amazing.
