Wolfie don't work.

Post by Chalky » Mon Feb 14, 2011 10:15 pm

So I am making a campaign and I'm trying to turn a NPC into a wolf however when I do the NPC turns into Turner with a white belt across his stomach and then it just squats like its gonna go number 2 and and thats it. It never turns into a wolf.

Any ideas?

weird, huh?

I think it goes away when you save, quit and reload the map. ...might be wrong, but maybe try it.

Thanks I give it a try real quick.

I'm starting to think the map editor really does not want me to finish my campaign. I keep getting all these little weird bugs.

well yeah that's the main reason there aren't more campaigns.

I can't get the wolves to work. I thought I got it to work, guess I didn't. :(

Any help would be helpful. :)

I am plagued by this problem when I'm trying to make epic wolf battles... I've tried just about everything, and not much seems to help turn the rabbits to wolves. I sometimes destroy the NPC while trying to beat him into a wolf... XD

Anyway, so what you do is delete the enemy and place a new one in a slightly different orientation, then move him where you want him after you turn him into a wolf. It seems the physical position and orientation of the character have some odd influence on its ability to be a wolf... I find that making the rabbit sit before transforming him can help. Also if you can catch the NPC in midair, it usually takes only one try to change them.

Weird stuff, huh? I'm now compelled to figure out what's going on in the code that makes this happen...

I've never had a problem with placing a wolf. Place a rabbit with P, then press Shift + S or O(I'm using Dvorak so I'm not sure which key the game is actually using. It's the S key on a standard Qwerty labeled keyboard but that key is O for Dvorak).

If the rabbit just passes to another rabbit when press it, try holding shift and pressing until the game freezes. Wait until it unfreezes, it's usually changed to a wolf. Usually Shift+ three rapid presses of the S key but just took four for me for me 7th wolf.

The game seems to suffer from too fast CPU or GPU. On my older computer it was simple to change to a wolf.

made a screenshot... I placed several wolves and made turner into a kid with
