Bug or feature?

Post by Silb » Fri Jan 20, 2006 6:04 pm

You've probably experienced the following (mildly annoying) situation: you get kicked into the air, and try to recover with a flip. But you only have time to go through half the animation, and eventually crash into the ground in ragdoll mode.

Well, it's a little weird, but if you hit the jump key right before crashing, Turner interrupts his half-baked flip and skillfully lands with a roll or a backflip instead.

Is this yet another of those thousands of undocumented features? It's starting to get dizzying :|

Edit: never mind

That sounds like a bug, you are supposed to ragdoll if you hit the ground in mid flip.

Update- the move works like reversals: if done early enough it prevents all damage; if done a little late it does not.

I suppose this makes it a little more likely to be a feature?

Yes, this is a feature :)

They are not fun if they are documented, because then everyone knows about them!

yea, there are so many little additions to the gameplay that make this average-looking game an underground masterpiece.

Agreed, it was another brilliant idea on David's part 8)

Wonder if we should make a black list of all undocumented features so we can tell each other what we've missed out? and then we'd hide it on the wiki or destroy it
Anyone interested?

EDIT: After all, I think it's not really worth the trouble. These forums already pretty much cover the subject.

Make an invisible button in the wiki (if possible)!
