New maps

Post by Silb » Tue Jan 24, 2006 6:33 pm

To celebrate the fact that hotspots now work*, here are 4 original maps-
gate
dawn
trap
chasm

The main character is Sven, Turner's less-known brother, who is currently training in the desert.

Downlad, enjoy :)

Thanks for the thumbs-up guys :)

I'll work on some scenario if I can get dialogues to work (doubtful)...

Kickass!

The hotspots are an OK aside, but your level design is great. I particularly like Gates and Chasm. All very fun to play, they mix up the situations you face very nicely. Lots of good variety. Chasm was my favorite level because you don't get a lot of chances in-game to use your sword in bigger battles, so it was a welcome breath of fresh air, especially with the fact you're also given high ledges. Dawn was good too, seemed like a mission you'd find in the story mode.

Trap was my least/most favorite. It had a good setup (though some of the ledges needed a bit of work) and the option to fight or run is always good. But DAMN if the boss wasn't a pain. Incredibly hard. I must have restarted that level 50 times, from either dying at his hands or being hit enough before to bork my chances of winning. The guy has ridiculous health and power. Very, very difficult.
Though, when I did finally beat him (with a wall-kick, no less!), it was pure satisfaction.

Thanks, the detailed review helps a lot :)

I made the boss in "trap" really strong, but you can nail him easily with a flip and a rabbit-cannon. He's sure to hit a wall and die since you fight him in an (almost) closed room. Beating him without this trick is in a heroic feat :P

I can't. My Lugaru screenshots are all wacky and messed up, for some reason.

If somebody knows about this glitch i'm interested, by the way.

Lugaru screen shots

Post by champrjk » Thu Feb 23, 2006 11:10 pm

my screen shots are screwed up also. What is up with that? Its like you cut them into strips and stuck them back togeather with missing peices. Anyone know how to fix this bug?

It's a sort of glitch which happens in some of the games I play..

If I want to take screenshots from games that happen in, I take about 4 instead of 1, and 1 is always perfect, without those lines in it.

Or use Snapz Pro :)

Woot! Snapz Pro (almost) works! If you invoke it, then quit the game, the screen as it was when you invoked Snapz sticks around, and you can Command-Ctrl-4 it.
Better this than nothing, I guess.

*goes to gather some screenies for the 4 levels*

Here you go, some postcards a friend of Sven (Remember? Sven, Turner's brother) printed from his Nikon D2X. If this can help convince Harlequin and Nuky, who asked for screenshots of these levels, to register, then good.

Gate
Gate (2)
Dawn
Trap Ta tada-taaaa ta-tadaaa (Indiana Jones theme--of course)
Chasm ta-ta-ta taaa taaa ta-ta-ta taaa taaa (Star Wars theme)
