Re: All Points Bulletin
Alright, I'll remember that. Still waiting to see what happens about them. I just remember mentions of it somewhere and people getting excited.
And yeah, the devs have released a few podcasts, though they might not be the most informative, due to most information about the game still not being public (I'd know...I've had to dodge around the NDA a few times and see what has and hasn't been released to the public -_-).
EDIT: No need to give me the puppy.

I'm open to you proving me wrong, I'm interested.
Also currently downloading Alliance Of Valiant Arms, which looks particularly cool and is also free. Looks like what an MMO game should be.

Dude, after playing Spellborn, all credibility in what you've said has been lost. In the first few quests I had to do the following:Blorx wrote:No, in fact, it really isn't...F2P MMOs and WoW clones are grindfests. You need to try something out of the box. Try RISE, try Spellborn, try Neocron, try APB. There are many more, but I won't waste my time.
- Collect 5 notes on the deck of a ship for the captain.
- Break 5 boxes in the hold of the ship.
- Collect 5 roses for a man beside a barn.
- Kill 5 wolves for a man beside a house.
- Kill 5 boar/bull creatures for a different man beside a house.
- Fetch a man in a house for the port captain.
- Deliver a letter to a girl from a guy.
No grinding or repetitive quests, eh? Out of the box, is it? Puh-leeeeeease.

I never said quests weren't repetitive. I just said the game as a whole was out of the box and insinuated that the repetition caused by the designers bumfucking the awesomeness behind it could be overlooked because of the great combat. >.>Renegade_Turner wrote: No grinding or repetitive quests, eh? There are always other ways to level. If you're going to quest grind, then you've got to expect this. Either that or play RISE, LOVE, etc, that don't have quests or leveling. =P

Re: All Points Bulletin
The combat isn't great. Where did you get this? It's basically the same as Runescape but disguised as though it's action-orientated. Sometimes creatures will still hit you after you've ran a good few feet away. This takes away from being able to run around and hit shit. The combat isn't a redeeming factor.
You called it "out of the box". I want you to fucking take that back right now, this is just like World Of Warcraft.

No...it's really not. I'm completely lost as to where you're getting that. The combat is action-oriented and perhaps you're just having latency issues, and that's why you're still getting hit a few feet away.Renegade_Turner wrote:

However, I take it back on grounds that it'll get you to shut up. =P

Re: All Points Bulletin
After realising from a video tutorial on youtube that all it take to dodge is move three steps back and three steps to the side, I've realised that this game is fucking easy.Blorx wrote:No...it's really not. Once I unlocked some of the cool Rogue-specific attacks the combat wasn't as mind-numbingly boring as it was, but I still won't call it action-oriented. The combat isn't as bad as WoW, but it's still boring as shit at some stages, and it isn't enough to sustain you calling it "out of the box".
I appreciate what they tried to do, but so far I'm definitely not a believer.
Still fucking pissed off at the lack of derivation from your garden variety run of the mill fucking fetch quests.
If there was a quest like that in Spellborn it might be pretty cool.Grayswandir wrote:Fuck that, I'm hungry, I'm oriental, give me your dog.

Yeah, it was more the concept that got to me than the execution. It definitely has its downsides. However, I've heard there's great PvP...I never reached it though.
