Wolfire = Lawful Good

Post by CameO73 » Sun Jun 06, 2010 1:23 pm

This D&D pic caught my eye. Apparently Wolfire has the "lawful good" alignment :D

Not quite sure how Ubisoft got Chaotic Evil. Chaotic Shortbus, sure. But Evil?
EDIT: Oh right, their DRM. Of course. But wouldn't that be more Lawful Evil?

Anyway, where did that picture come from exactly?

I've got no idea where that picture originated from. I only saw it because Paul Eres had tweeted (twat? twittered?) about it.

I would've switched Lucas and Wolfire to be honest.

With Wolfire being all "freedom to indies!" and Lucasarts being all "starwarsstarwarsSTARWARSSTARWARS"

Star Wars? Is that a scifi offshoot of their Indiana Jones games? :P I only know Lucas Arts as a maker of point-n-click adventure games, and some of those were chaotic (in a literal sense) as well as good - "Look behind you! It's a three-headed monkey!"

Yeah, Zynga is WAY bigger tahn Wolfire! I mean, 1 million on a one-off bundle is pretty feeble compared to 200 MILLION Zynga took in last year. Source. :P

Zynga works. You can't judge game companies by the playability of their games alone. Looking Glass...

I'm talking about the quality of the games, just because lots of people play zynga's games doesn't mean they're good.

That's very true, millions if not billions play WoW these days, and that game is horrible...

It does mean that the COMPANY is good, though. Economically, at least, and isn't that how you measure the success of a company?

From what I heard Microsoft made some money off Windows Vista...

Actually, most companies tried to avoid updating into Vista because there wasn't enough incentive to do the costly procedure, even though XP support will end in a few years. "Few years" means that computers bought now would still be in heavy-duty use, and usually the chance of not being able to get support for those computers would be enough incentive on its own...

Windows 7, though, that is making Windows lots of money, especially from the businesses.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/money/articl ... world.html

Windows 7 is being adopted even in companies that did start incorporating Vista - it's worth it even if the tech people have to support the going-out XP, AND the new Vista and Windows 7 machines.

Windows OSs are the most used worldwide. Whatever you think of Microsoft, I'm pretty sure everyone reading this thread has, at some point, used a Windows computer, but some of the people reading haven't used a mac, or a linux OS. It could've been otherwise, it might be different some day, but if Microsoft says what they're doing and you're making money out of something related to what they're going to do, you'd better listen closely.

Wtf is Zynga? Never heard of it.

I've used a Mac once or twice recently at friends' houses and was vastly confused. I see that as a fail on their part. I could kind of basically navigate it but it was extremely difficult. Windows is much more accessible.

Linux I've never tried.
