Lugaru on steam?

Are there any plans to make Lugaru available on Steam? It would be a good way to get more money while waiting for Overgrowth to be finished.

I think it was enough work just getting overgrowth on steam, I can't imagine how hard it would be to get a short ten year old game on there and make much of a profit at all. But than again I wouldn't know.

It's possible that Lugaru might be given away for free with Overgrowth, but I don't know that it would be smart.

Lugaru is still pretty damn glitchy. I can't get the resolution to adjust properly on my desktop. I go to options and set it to the highest widescreen resolution available, but it just sets it to 1280x1024 again. Then, when it starts it just minimizes.

I think the community would have to put out some kind of giant fix-all patch before it could garner mainstream acceptance on Steam. Most people would probably be put off by the issues.

We know overgrowth is going to have a steam release, so i guess this wouldn't be too much of a surprise, but it does kind of come out of nowhere without much notice. Kind of like that other indie game vvvvv (which i did get at that time) and it appears that there is NO DRM in that game, so considering all else, i'm going to guess that Steam Powered lugaru is DRM free.

If you consider that retail markup can be as high as 100%, what do you guys think about releasing on major distribution platforms? Major cut taken out from the developers? or Major publicity for an indie game?

Hey, just registered to reply to this thread. I already had Lugaru HD through the Humble Bundle, but I saw on the Steam store page that the Steam version of Lugaru had controller support, so I bought it again. Turns out the store page is wrong, there is no controller support and I spent £8 on a game I already own

Also kudos to Daedalus for being very mature about the complaint. He didn't come in kicking and screaming like a lot of people would have.
