I've had Cortex Command since B22 came out.

I've checked out many of the mods and, yeah, some of them are pretty neat.

But unless there is a mod that fixes the AI, cleans up the godawful controls and rearranges the GUI into something presentable, no amount of user-generated content is going to make the game any less shit.

Because no matter how many mods you download, the enemy soldiers will still spend most of the game getting killed by their own delivery craft, trampling each other to death and getting stuck in the ground. And your own soldiers will still have trouble walking along a flat surface without falling over. Oh, and if you release control of them for more then a few seconds they will still insist on leaping off their sniper perches and dropping live grenades on their own toes.

Besides, as with all user-generated content, you have to dig through endless piles of ugly, overpowered, buggy and inefficient garbage to find the handful of worthwhile mods.

Also, yeah, the AI generally blows, but the game itself can still be challenging at times. As for your gripe about the controls, I honestly don't get it. They do seem hard to master at first, but to put it simply, I find the learning curve to be steep and short. Once you get some of the harder basics down, there's not much to it. After a few days playing the game they should come pretty naturally.

I'm not saying they couldn't use work, I'm just saying they're actually pretty good when you get used to them.

Haha, It would seem someone found a vulnerability in your website.

That or someone wants you to think they did, and paid an exorbitant amount of money to do so.

the counter is up to 1 million due to some obvious manipulation ... what a bunch of fucking tool boxes.

at least spell out "eat my cock" with the first letters of your entries, or the name of the guy who founded 4chan ... that at least would be a noteworthy prank.

I'm pretty sure all the top contributors are legit, and the advertisers just figured that $1000 for a spot on the contributors list was a good deal considering how many impressions it gets.

*shrug*

if the cash is rolling in, then more power to them. personally I would have figured out better things to write then a bunch of gibberish that makes them look like spam bots.

What OS are you on? I think I read they are working on an update that will fix issues in 10.5.8...

"There is an issue with Braid running on Mac OS 10.5.8. Icculus is currently working on a new build. Stay tuned to our twitter page (http://twitter.com/humble) for information about the new build."

Edit: I also just read it might work if you run the Steam version...

I was specifically talking about the entry listed as "Metasploit" with the price $1337.

Metasploit is popular tool for scanning and finding vulnerabilities on remote servers. Basically it tests hundreds of exploits against the server of your choice and tries to open a remote shell with any of them that are successful.

But if all of them are legit, I guess some people happen to have a few thousand sitting around to make people think they hacked the list. :P

The advertisers I'm sure are legit, due to the massive publicity as you said.
