Demo for Overgrowth??

Post by grievous » Tue Jun 14, 2011 9:40 pm

Hello. A few days ago, my computer science teacher showed us in class a video of Overgrowth, and I have been very interested in it since. I really want to get it but I want to know if there is a demo I could try out first, to see if my pc can run it well, and if I actually like it. I tried searching a bit if there is a demo posted but I could not find any.

Thanks in advance.

It's not yet ready for a demo yet. Since the game is still in such an early stage, any demo made now would not be anywhere close to the final product.

If you can post your computer's specs, people here will most probably be able to approximate if Overgrowth will run on it. Your computer's graphics card will be one of the deciding factors on whether the game will run or not, so make sure to mention that.

and if still in doubt, you can always still try out their Lugaru game, it has a demo, or you can buy the game. It plays quite similar, same general idea.

He is very cool. He said that if we finish our summatives in time, we can play CS:S on the projector :D

We did that in my last school too when we were studying Unreal Engine. The teacher had to turn off the projector when the students started using it against him! :D

Unfortunately I do not think your computer will be able to play Overgrowth. Those integrated Intel video cards just don't cut it.

Yes, Intel integrated cards are terrible. I have one, unfortunately :| Anyways, I saw on the Wiki that someone with a 4500HD got the game running, but that performance was not so super. Because there's no optimization yet, it's likely that you'll be able to run the finished game just fine, with some of the settings toned down.

Damn. We almost got our Technoligy teacher to let us have a huge 30 man Battlefield battle. However, due to some mess-ups from some the students, he didn't let us

Hey Guys,

Just joined the forums recently, and I had a similar question to the fine fellow that is the OP. I just didn't want to make a whole 'nother thread.

My specs are as follows:

intel core duo (2 physical cores, no hyperthreading) - 3.0GHz
4GB Ram (pretty good speed, don't remember the exact number)
nvidia GTS 250

I can run the Witcher 2 pretty decently, ~35 to 40 fps-- should I expect to run into any graphical problems with Overgrowth? I understand that the game is still in the heavy alpha stages, and so I understand the there is little to no optimization currently. But to the preorderers, what are your build specs and how does it run for you?

They have said there will be a demo, but not until there is a game to show off.
