Re: randomness
That actually makes alot of sense.
most intelligent people just want to accomplish a goal that they choose not so much for the money, but because they want to.
However, the same kinds of people who start wikipedia, make video game mods, build free software, etc. are the same types that would rather die than to see someone profit off their software.
So its not like you can pay people peanuts, let them do whatever they want in terms of their own goals and then steal away their work. That simply, isn't going to work.
Thats kinda a demotivator in itself for me. I know that if i were to make something unique and cool, the university could take it away from me. Apparently universities like to claim students' intellectual properties as their own if the student isn't too careful about where they work on it and with what resources. Even simple things such as asking a professor their opinion on how to go about solving a specific problem could cause your whole project to fall under their hands. :C

I got the general jist of it, yeah. Cheers.Zhukov wrote:There's not really much to get. They're imitating various units from Starcraft (zealot, marine, dragoon, siege tank and carrier, in that order) accompanied by matching sound effects from the game.
Re: randomness

To quote the highest-rated comment: THAT'S OKAY! I WASN'T PLANNING ON SLEEPING TONIGHT ANYWAYS!
EDIT: Oh in case that won't burn into your brain:
^At first it sounds like standard Combine radio chatter and the idea that the zombies are using it is almost comical... at first. Then you realize from the use of certain terms- "Necrotics inbound", "Sector is not secure", "Parasites", "Infestation", etc- that the Zombine are repeating what may have been their last sentences as a human trying to fend off the headcrab attack.
