Haha, not likely. I think it's an old test sound David might have been using. Possibly when working with the low pass and distance delay effects. Because gunshots are so loud, they are able to be easily demonstrated in real life videos allowing for David to effectively implement the effect over a lot of different distances.
I started on a gun mod, though. A while back, but just another mod I never actually finished

Well, started that mod at least, haha. I'm pretty bad about finishing my mod ideas.

I miss the good old days when he demonstrated destructible walls in the phoenix engine with guns, I used to fantasize about rabbit kicking enemies through those walls so often.

for anyone interested.

I never knew that those videos were of the pheonix engine. I just assumed that the AWOL videos were of a separate engine.

you didn't recognize the sky? or for that matter the title of this video? I didn't mean that to sound condescending, but it looks kinda like it. anyway!

If I recall correctly I think David rewrote the Phoenix Engine that he had been working on during uni after he graduated.

So it's technically not the same engine, they just have the same name.

I believe that's true, but he still used some of the base features of the engine. maybe, to be honest I don't really remember all that much, so hey, I could be wrong!
