6/10. Not really a bronie, but I am easily amused by animated avatars.
I wonder if freshbite was afraid to rate my avatar after my penis comment fearing that i would pull the ol' switch-a-roo on him.

9/10, because I've always liked that rabbit, but nobody's perfect. Where does it come from?

Spoon.
And you're Marvin the melancholic robot from the Hitchhiker's guie to etc, but the new, flashy, americanised version that I didn't like one bit.
Still, the character in himself remains fantastic, and I'm not going to let stupid american producers destroy my appreciation of him.

Sh.. it's ok. I didn't like that version very much either.
However, it is the most easily recognizable version of Marvin. And it would take more than that to destroy Adams for me.
Spoon?

The books for the hitchhikers guide were so much INFINITELY better than the movie. If you take it as a standalone it isn't too bad, but when you compare it to the books and radio series then well... I think you know where we're going with this.

I'll take the second.Glabbit wrote:Choice of two:
And yes. I suppose this has to do with the constraints of movie running time and such, but Zaphod was the worst. They completely bastardized his character; made him some stupid, impulsive egotist. Well, the impulsiveness and egotism were true, but he was anything but stupid in the book.
Re: Rate the avatar above you
Bloody right!
Appropriately enough, I found that the TV series was just in between the radio series and the americanised film in terms of quality.
In my own opinion only, o'course.
Yes. And then there's the TV series! Where Marvin looked like this:zoidberg rules wrote:The books for the hitchhikers guide were so much INFINITELY better than the movie. Didn't he cut out a part of his own brain?Jacktheawesome wrote:And yes. I suppose this has to do with the constraints of movie running time and such, but Zaphod was the worst. My point being, his impulsiveness could easily be classified as stupid. His whole character operated in the area between unrecognized genius and just plain stupid.

True that. However, the one thing I thought was good in the movies. Marvin's voice. Alan Rickman was actually perfect for that as far as I'm concerned.

That was Alan Rickman? Jeez, it seems so obvious now.
Yes, that is true. With the exception of Zaphod, who's part was dumbed down to begin with, and Ford (Mos Def is a good actor, but he wasn't Ford), I thought the actors they chose were pretty suitable.
