Character creation idea
I want a character creation thing for making your own maps. Its boring just pressing a number and coloring the suit and things. What we need is at the beginning of the map, you wake up in a cinematic scene in first person and look into a shard of a broken mirror or something, and go to a character customization screen. You could edit the color of the bunny himself, choose clothing and armor, choose patches of fur color and design, and the color of the clothing/armor. This may only be an idea and probably will not happen, but if the Wolfire team is looking at this, please consider my idea.

i'll just leave it to the other people to reply to this.
Re: Character creation idea
That might be cool.
However, it's cool maybe five times, tops. After five times, I'd just do it the boring way. Instead of that, I'd love to see more of the regular updates, which make the game more fun and doesn't become bland after five times. Like AI updates.

Well, actually, you can add gear to a character by going load item > O2 > working gear. Place it on the ground, select it, then alt+click it and attach it to a point on the character. Right now, they don't have much, just some basic armor and a few pouches, but I'm sure they'll add more later.
Re: Character creation idea
In my opinion, not a great idea. The game is, and always has been, a sequel to Lugaru; it's meant to tell Turner's story.
Sure, it'd be fun for custom maps, but is it worth it to put so much work into a feature that is irrelevant for the main game?

games are made for entertainment, and you can make a map for entertainment.
see where it locks together?
(sorry if that sounded like i was a sarcastic dick)

I find the game entertaining as it is and it's still in alpha.Timbles wrote:games are made for entertainment, and you can make a map for entertainment.

Speculation is fun but arguing about speculation isn't. The developers have said on multiple blog posts that they plan on developing the map and editor portions of the game first because they want to create the main campaign using those tools. It's already obvious that they plan on making the finished tools available to the community.
Re: Character creation idea
Can't you just, like, edit the UV textures and stuff?
Re: Character creation idea
no 'cause that's lazy.
