Anyway, the only Video-RPG that I think has ever had effective multiplayer is Neverwinter Nights. NWN has great multiplayer, when moderated well. I think that this is mainly because of the DM system. A good PW that's run well can work brilliantly.
There are a few exceptional PWs that capture the immersion and the world-changing feeling despite being set in a multiplayer environment, mainly due to the DMs moderating major events frequently.
So basically, a multiplayer RPG can work well but it has to be closely moderated and it has to have players that co-operate with the idea of roleplaying.
