So all of your posts are off topic? :?

Anyway, the only Video-RPG that I think has ever had effective multiplayer is Neverwinter Nights. NWN has great multiplayer, when moderated well. I think that this is mainly because of the DM system. A good PW that's run well can work brilliantly.
There are a few exceptional PWs that capture the immersion and the world-changing feeling despite being set in a multiplayer environment, mainly due to the DMs moderating major events frequently.

So basically, a multiplayer RPG can work well but it has to be closely moderated and it has to have players that co-operate with the idea of roleplaying.

Generally, yes.

Well, my opinion was questioned so I had to elaborate on the matter.

Drakengard...3....I don't know if I should be depressed or jump for joy. Sure, Cavia isn't around to hate everyone that tries to complete their games, but it looks like they're getting the old gang back together to give it another go.

You know...Cavia...the developer that gave us this:

...and this:

...oh, and more related to Drakengard:

...Cavia hates kids.

...No I mean really hates kids.

In other news, Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk is a nice and rather relaxing RPG.

@OP:
I seem to recall that I've heard about the new Torment game before, but I forgot about it, and now you reminded me again, so I read all about it and backed their kickstarter campaign. I'm awfully hyped about this!

I'm actually interest in knowing how you missed that one. It's been around for some time.

I didn't know quite how it slipped past me either. I love the Thief games.
