Lugaru 2: Voice Acting?

Post by Wumpus » Wed Aug 23, 2006 9:29 pm

Hello everyone. I was just wondering if someone (like David or Jeff) could tell me if there is going to be any voice acting in the game? While technically rabbits don't talk out loud, it would be better than text. I know the animals produce various grunts and chirps and so on, but maybe some sort of narration by Turner or the 'mystery narrator' effect.

Just curious, and wondering if your allowed to tell anything about it.

Thanks in advance!

Voices will most likely be along the same lines as in Lugaru 1, but text should be more readable.

That sounds like a pretty good idea. A new kinda language system wouldn't be needed, but syllables would make it a bit more believable. It would allow the dialogues to be more complex, but still editable.

And not just one chirp for a whole paragraph.

Though that technique might be useful on forums. A whole paragraph of flamebating can be translated to:

Chirrup.

What he said isn't really a opininated editorial on the game. Multiple paragraphs actually are made into single chirps in Lugaru. Don't try to deny it until you've played Lugaru.

What we need is for each character to make their noises differently...different pitches, etc...
If there is a narrator...they should do the whole movie preview voice in "Chirrups"...yeah...that would be wacky.

Turner has to played by Samuel L. Jackson.

I think all this syllable stuff is a bit of a stupid idea. I don't need to have a whole host of rabbit noises to go along with "You killed my whole family, now you die!"

Well... They're evolved rabbits.
Meaning, they probably don't need this type of squeak, squeak, squeakers, in their sentences and multi-sylabels noises as part of their vocabulary.

This is in the theory that all sentient animals can clearly understand each other like the wolves and rabbits. I think of it as an advanced form of the chinese writing system (in language form), single words, along with the tone and body language, can mean entire thoughts that all sentient life can understand (though that's just what I think. David and Jeff should throw us a bone and explain more).

Oh and, we all know how annoying constant animal noises can be as appossed to text dialog.
(Banjo kazooie: DAMN YOU TURKEY! I CAN READ JUST FINE WITHOUT YOUR CONSTANT GARBLING, SHUT UP, JUST SHUT UP!!).

I doubt that all wolves and bunnys and stuff can understand eachothers language, cuz if a wolf growls and approaches a defenseless rabbit, there's not much to be said is there? I think it's mainly in body language. (Ripping an enemys arm off and devouring it translates to "I don't like you")
