Re: Fan Art
Blender has a Grease Pencil tool, which allows you to draw "on top of the screen". And Blender is also a video editor. And a game engine. And it can be used to match video data to a 3D movement (matchmaking). Things just get added, it's crazy.Retarded Username wrote:Blend- How and why?
Any way, the grease pencil has its roots on old CRT monitors with glass screens. It used to be that animators would use water-soluble markers to draw ON THE GLASS, and then use that as a guideline, and swipe it off with a wet rag afterwards. Don't try it with modern monitors! But yeah, it can be used to just draw on the screen.
Re: the animation itself - cool stuff! I would add a bit more squish and a longer preparation before the first, long jump, so the viewer starts expecting the jump before it happens. Also, the character moves a smaller distance in the first frames of the long jump, and a larger distance in the last frames. He doesn't have a jetpack,so it should be slowing down.
That said, it still reads well and looks good. I like the secondary movement in the ears, and the bounce in his landing.

Re: Fan Art
thanks,
what i did was i made a flat figure starting with a circle object and extrusions for the body and ears, and added an armature for animations.

Huh, so it's a 3D model? I was sure it was the grease pencil.RagdollZombie wrote:thanks,

Yeah, 3D models work, I made some experiments a while ago but this sure looked like something drawn.Endoperez wrote:Huh, so it's a 3D model? I was sure it was the grease pencil.RagdollZombie wrote:thanks,

Re: Fan Art
Hey, everyone. Remember me? I'm that guy that posted all that really weird art from back then. It's been a long time since I last visited this forum...to be honest I got kinda burned out.
But recent updates as well as the announcement that the campaign will be a higher priority focus has inspired me to do some art. Granted it's just a sketch because I don't have much time or motive to go further, but who knows? I might work on it a little more.
