Passed that sentry level on medium(hard?)

Post by Sargon » Mon Dec 18, 2006 1:59 pm

A while ago I posted that I couldnt pass the sentry level on the difficulty that is above easy.
So I abandoned the game for a while.
So yesterday I had some time, so I decided to try and play.
I didnt even sat straight on the chair, kind of in a tired posture.
So, I didnt sneak or anything, without much thought I tried the level and passed it on the first try.
That was fun.
Guess sometime too much strategy is a disadvantge.

I know that effect! Happens to me pretty often, not only in gaming, but in all sorts of activities. You lay it aside for some time after putting a lot of power into it. Then you go at it again and are better than before. I wonder why that is like that.

Your brain is still thinking about it after you leave, even if you don't know about it, when you come back your brain has worked out a way you can do it. Ta-da! For me alot of the time it doesn't work though.

I guess what it is is subconcious training, meaning memorizing the way things have happened, configuring ways that lead to partial success to 'preferred' and others to 'to be avoided', playing the scenario with the collected data, refining the choice and repeating this over and over.
With enough time, this choice pattern may lead to a very precise strategy with high probability of success.

Oh, those neurons. Funny little guys.

Reminds me of me and my eight consciences. :P

Seriously, I tend to argue with myself a lot.

It's hard to tell. :P

Also, they usually happen in sharp bursts of a few seconds or so.

I got 7 consciences too but they tend to get along well.

"Burn them all!"
"Yeah! Burn them all!"
"Why didn't I think of that?"
"We don't have any fire."
"Lets make some! With this match which was convienienly on the floor in front of us!"
"Oo, handy"

Except the 7th..

"You shouldn't burn thi-"
"GET HIM!"

For some reason, the end result of my arguments is almost always "Shut up and don't act like it's a fairy tale!"
