Not really, I mean seeing as how there is a "Tidal Pool Phase" where you have the cellular version of your creature going around eating other cells and evolving into a more complex life form I'd say at least some people will find it offensive.

yeah, because having a game made that doesn't fit exactly with your beleifs is so offensive.

Since its by the guy who made The Sims, it is likely it will be ported to Mac.

…What? Wow. Does that mean Maxis, or just someone on the Maxis team?

Will Wright is the famous designer, Maxis is the developing studio.

Essentially, Maxis. Unless Will Wright isn't part of Maxis.

I just had a look at the spore website and I don't like it so far, mainly as it contains phases, and the fact that instead of controlling one creature or many creatures for the entire game, it changes midgame.

It sounds pretty linear to me.

Games that mix genres like this rarely succeed: they appeal only to those who enjoy all of the genres included.

And what genres would you categorise Spore in?

I like all game styles except stealth, which I suck at.(Except for hitman)

Cell stage=2D Arcade
Creature stage=RPG/Sims
Tribe and city=RTS/Sims city
Space=Sandbox

One thing that concerns me, how will you be able to get back to your home planet after alot of space travelling? there's 500,000 stars or something like that!

I love stealth games! Though I don't like those that are completely stealth, although they're fun for a while. That's another feature I like about Lugaru 8)

Same way as usual, coming directly back! Maybe space travel will actually require a realistic level of intelligence or memory in Spore. I wonder if gravity will exist. Like you could be by slung at an angle by a planets gravitational pull.
