Crusaders of might and magic...
Dark messiah of might and magic...
OMFG SAME UNIVERSE!!!
I think that Turner should be able to use his enviroment to his advantage, I don't mean smacking someone into a wall, we can do that all ready, I mean like pulling a sign out of the ground and using it as a weapon, or breaking off a tree branch and stabbing someone with it.

Think, turner is fighting a wolf, he throws his last knife but it misses and flys off into the distance, the wolf is too strong so turner climbs up a tree and starts throwing nuts at him, then breaks off a twig, jumps down, and stabbed him in the back! And we could use icicles! ALL SHALL FEAR THE WRATH OF MY SMALL PLANK OF WOOD!!
Sorry, already been done.Colicedus wrote:to a degree, I don't want Turner the lvl 47 Healadin
As (scrolls down, searches, gives up) said about jumping on swords, I think that'd be pretty sweet, but just being able to interact with non-wielded weapons would be neat in itself.
This would be especially potent for double-edged weapons, as you'd be able to, say... get them stuck in a tree, then leg-cannon someone into it (for instance, if you missed the initial throw, etc.)
How about making a nice knife collecting, setting them all up and then luring enemies over your new spike trap? There are some pretty cool possibilities.
When it comes to RPG elements, me likes. Reputation like in Fable, etc. would be awesome. Being able to specialise in various thing would be good, too, and as multiplayer comes in, there's got to be a way of seeing your individual personal achievements.
A recurring theme also seems to be being able to make your own stuff.
Weapons, armour, bandages, healing potions, poison, etc. etc.
The only "resource gathering" thing I can't quite see fitting into Lugaru would be mining.
Turner taking a pickaxe to the ground or wandering off in the middle of combat upon seeing a shiny "node" would be pretty stupid, but apart from that it's all good.
Most of it comes down to strategy (MacGyver style) and customisation, though in the case of being able to build up your armour, as... er... someone else said a while ago... all armour should have advantages and disadvantages.
Big plate armour (I hope that's in, too) is more resistant, and can break weapons (and that) or send them pinging off, but is more heavy on that specific part and can weigh Turner down, especially in water (drowning bunnies, what could be more fun?)
Armour just being "better" would be a kinda' bad RPG element...
This would not only raise the question of what armour to wear, but where you want to wear it. Do you suffer from brain-related injuries? Get a helmet! Do your enemies keep eating your feet when you're not looking? Slippers are in order. It's all strategy.
Being not only able to customise armour but appearance would be important in multiplayer, too. Therefore, you can not only see who the player immediately is, but you avoid having floating name tags.
(Plus facial hair would be cool.)
Healing things should be mainly out-of-combat things, and work in real-time, perhaps with all the nice details of pulling arrows out of wounds and splinting broken legs (and that).
More ability to "aim" strikes would be a heaven-send, in my opinion.
Being actually able to choose not only when but WHERE to attack your enemy would be completely amazing when coupled with hacked off limbs and part-specific damage.
Being able to aim projectiles would not only be fairly essential in multiplayer (as it would make it more skilful) but it would improve single-player, as enemies wouldn't just be able to "resist" repeated knife throws.
Climbing trees could be done by holding down the crouch key to have a limited amount of increased mobility, allowing you to shimmy up those branches until you can perch vertically, when you can let go.
Leafy bits could cause quite a lot of noise if bumped into, though.
Does nobody but me think that being able to use owl-calls to distract your enemies would be awesome? ... Well, simple distractions like throwing stuff (other than corpses) would be nice, anyways.
Some way of picking up corpses would be good, or maybe just dragging 'em 'round.
Hold down the "pick up key" when targeting an enemy, and you drag them around, creating more noise but moving more quickly and taking less time to "set up".
Just tap the "pick up key" and you hurl them over your shoulder.
I just thought, wouldn't a "food bar" be pretty useless in grasslands? I mean... think about it. They're RABBITS.
I think someone said the wolves drove off all the raider's prey, so they might be carnivorous rabbits, anyway. Which is scary. Scarier than Python, as that was not an antho-bunny...
Heck, incorporate what you eat into your reputation. Eat grass? Normal bloke. Eat the charred corpses of your kinsmen over a bonfire? (cooking, I wants) People might just be a little unnerved.
Skills pertaining to your specialities, perhaps? Good archer? You can get stuff like "double-shot" or maybe even scope-like abilities, that zoom your vision in. I dunno.
Anyway, I've blathered on for long enough. Hope the pictures made it at least a bit interesting.
I was gonna do more, but it's late and now I have to go and keel over on my bed.
Might do some more tomorrow.
I was thinkin' more along the lines of my new icon.
What Lugaru 2 really needs is... dwarf bunnies. If there are no dwarf bunnies, I will cry. You don't want to make me cry do you?
None of 'em actually have "facial hair", but just differnt lengths of hair and styles upon them.

I agree, a good example would be Lackadaisy. Well, not that good an example, as they're anthro-cats instead of anthro-bunnies, but you get the idea.Colicedus wrote:maybe the facial hair should be a bit more like bits of longer fur...

Don't listen to him, he's just trying to dissuade the awesomeness that is dorf bunnies.Colicedus wrote:How ever, Usagi made me hate the idea!
