I find it odd that his ears are shrinking instead of growing like minus-slow-mo normaly does.

I think that's more a result of the head tilting backwards.

I have plenty of reverse slo-mo shots where the ears don't change at all. But lots of other weird things happen.

I swear I killed the Alpha Wolf in 5 seconds!!
I tripped him over, got out my sword, went behind him and just when he got up I stapped the sword throught the back of his neck!

Didn't you hear him call it a "puny weapon?" You're supposed to be goaded into killing him with your bare paws!

The fasted way to kill him I've found is to jump on the nearby block as soon as he starts for you. He runs past and stands looking around, saying, "Duh, which way did he go, which way did he go?"

Then jump past him, turn and Cannon Leg Mr. Alphalpha into the block.

Ding! Game Over! Proceed to the Rocky Hall and blow them all up three times to show your distain for their puny weapons!
