Post by Xinghoa » Sun Mar 11, 2007 7:16 am

I was wondering if anyone could port, or has done already, GLFighters onto Windows. It looks cool from the screenshots and I wanna play it T_T. So if anyone is porting or has done please PM me or reply and send the download to my e-mail adress. My e-mail adress is [email protected]

Nayr said he was in the long process of porting it to SDL, which should make
it cross-platform, but I don't know if it will be finished or not.

It's an old and IMO unfinished game, so I don't think it's a Wolfire must-play.

Apparently it was done in the style of Marshmallow Duel. Funnily enough, this runs in DOS though. If you can't run it, use DOSBox.

This also means it runs on linux, mac, etc since DOSBox is cross-platform. :P

Probably not :(
I'm juggling theater, school, two college courses, and my personal projects, and I work on that project like once every two weeks; right now i have the skybox.

You might be able to find a Mac emulator for Windows though.

Anyway, GLFighters isn't exactly a very good game in terms of it's AI, the AI moves too fast, always fires whenever it might hit, etc, and whenever you get close enough to snap his neck, he automatically snaps yours. However, if you have a friend who wants to play too, you can have lots of fun.

That's my summary of GLFighters to help you decide if it's worthwhile trying to play it on Windows.

you mean it's great AI

but it's great as a two player game, and if you beat the ai, it's very satisfying.

The AI is only hard if you're not playing with jetpacks. Otherwise, it's hell of easy :P . I've never beaten the AI on ground. It's almost impossable... unless you set it to friendly :P .

Yeah, it sucks with the jetpack since you have the option of dodging.
