Black Shades: Invasion

Post by Touque Guy » Thu Aug 05, 2004 1:03 am

I'm hacking together a "mod" for Black Shades called Invasion. It will basically replace the idea of assassins and zombies with aliens, all types of aliens.

This is pretty much a total conversion. Only a couple weapons (pistol, shotgun) will stay.

I don't have any information other than this at the moment, because I am waiting for the OS X source to be emailed to me.

Very cool. Will this game have the same graphics as black shades or are you going to inprove it?

Well I might as well try some new models of people. Maybe I'll just use the ones from Soul Of Steel. But definitely improved graphics for aliens.

What about the backrounds. Are there any trees or hill's. Or are there just citys and stuff?

It will retain the original city setting, seeing as how it is built into the game.

I don't think the SOS models are compatable because the bone structure wouldn't match the animation data... and the rendering engine may not even be compatable.

Well what if I made a new skeleton for the new aliens?

It seems that the "mod" is pretty much "dead".

Right, seeing this seems to be rather dead, do you think you could dispose of the corpse, David?
Edit: or at least lock it away?

1) stop beating a dead horse
2) the sos models aren't compatible. Two very different game enginges.
