Thanks rudel_ic your converter program, and tutorials are what makes this possible.

Traditional Kunai (For Any The Naruto Fans Around Here):

Maybe this is what was meant earlier by "kunai" thought i'd make the Traditional version.
Thanks rudel_ic I still consult your tutorials, and your converter is the keystone for this work.

(I may have made the knuckle ring to thin to be prominent, but it's still there, just like the originals)

The awesomeness of your contributions is blinding.

You're really motivating me to get a release done so you have less hassle.

Are you using the drag-and-drop batch file? Because I was thinking of making it so that you can say what the application should do with files that are drag-and-dropped into it.

Choices I was thinking of are:
- Import
- Export
- Directly convert
- Invert normals
- Generate UV texture
- Mirror UV texture
- Resize to weapon

And you could then configure a pipeline, for example, you make your model normally in Blender WITHOUT inverting normals or scaling it up.

In my program, you have a pipeline configured.

You export the .x, drag-and-drop the result onto my application and it automatically does things in the following order because you configured it that way:
1. Import
2. Invert normals
3. Resize to weapon
4. Generate UV texture
5. Mirror generated UV texture
6. Export .solid (filename is automatic)
7. Export mirrored UV texture (filename is automatic)

Or you configure it that way:
1. Import
2. Generate UV texture
3. Mirror generated UV texture
4. Export mirrored UV texture (filename is automatic)

Or some other way. For example, mirroring the UV coordinates instead of the texture and exporting the resulting .solid / .x.

Pipelines can of course be saved (and exchanged with other people via internet).

What do you think?

Sounds really awesome that my work can motivate you that way!!! i think that all of that would be really cool! yes i am using the drag-drop batch converter. when you say pipeline you mean wireframe, right? But all that sounds great, and im glad you like my material. :D

A short polearm used by Chinese Janisary's. (I believe)
Thanks rudel_ic your tutorials helped me over a problem with this one, and your converter continues to make this possible.

(I still don't know what you meant by elbow blade... i'll make a sketch and put it up to see if its what you meant.)

There are no Revving noises (obviously) so if someone wants to edit the sound files for slashes, then they should post them here.
Thanks to rudel_ic for his request and his converter.
this is what you have been waiting for chainsaw man.

No, I mean what to do with a model and in what order. That means you can then automate all the stuff you're now doing extra, like scaling the model or inverting normals.

Making this optional and configurable is grounded in the fact that the game engine rescales stuff and handles normals differently for different models, as you surely have found out.

For example, you can't use Cube.solid as a weapon - it's too small and the normals are inverted.

And you can't use Sword.solid as a replacement for Cube.solid - it's just too big and the normals are inverted.

To tackle that, weapons like the sword and immobile stuff like the cube need different pipelines.
It's not possible to detect whether what you imported is an immobile or a weapon.
Well, it kind of is if it's already a .solid or if the modeler made the .x with correct scale in mind, because then, one could check how big the model is and deduce what it's supposed to be. That again only makes sense if the model already IS mega-big / super-small.
But that's kind of a hack anyway - giving default pipelines for different kinds of models is more elegant in my opinion. And the flexibility is a big fat bonus that's worth it, I think.

Edit: Holy crap, another weapon. Truly impressive. Carry on.

Yes. Modeling has been a hobby for me. and now that i can use he models for something, its like *screams*... I mean, i knew how to model for a long time, and i'd do it for fun, and i just didn't know how to use them for this. but i do now, so im crankin them out like nothing before... anyway, i get what you mean now, sounds great, you make the program and i'll use it to make sweet weapons, and maybe some static objects... :D
