Lugaru rage mode
My freind had an idea for lugaru ad he said something about rage mode. Do you think its a good idea?

Re: Lugaru rage mode
if you mean a berserk mode, where stats are temporarily increased, and damage has no virtual effect until it wears off, then you begin to feel the effects of your ruthless rampage, then yes, that would be cool. you would have to be careful not to take to much damage, because once it wore off, you could die from it... or we could have an adrenaline excess, where things would slow down a bit... anyway...
Re: Lugaru rage mode
In most games where this has been implemented, I didn't really see it improve the game as such... It became less of a tactic-fighting game and more 'omg-gotta-go-raged-so-I-can-kill-the-barstuds' kinda thing.
I'd be all for the idea if it was there, but very, very subtly. Like, with each consecutive hit you land fast enough after each other without getting knocked over, your damaging ratio goes up by 0.001 or something... maybe armour ratio too. Something very small, that will only benefit those who play tactfully and skillfully.
Anyone with me on this?

Re: Lugaru rage mode
I think this basically happens anyway in the first lugaru. that's the whole deal with combos
Re: Lugaru rage mode
Does it?
What I'm sure doesn't happen, is that after you rack up an enormous combo the next attack on you gets any less lethal.
It's such a pity to be ramming away three wolves for such a time, and then suddenly one simple claw nabs your face and you hit the floor with a crack for the last time...

I believe it would make more sense to lower the enemies armor/damage/speed by a slight amount also. As if you're being bested by someone blow after blow, it'll lower your morale and throw you off.

And it would hurt a lot... make it painful to move etc.

Re: Lugaru rage mode
does lugaru have any effect on fighting in RL? because i got into some good fights today (i guess today just wasn't my best day, maybe my hair was messed up and i didn't know it) and i did pretty damn well... even though i have been negligent with my martial arts practice lately... (someone hit me for that, please) but yeah, i found myself trying moves* from luagru, and it turned out ok.

Re: Lugaru rage mode
if we hit you would you react defensively and practice your martial arts? I don't believe I'll take the chance. =D
Re: Lugaru rage mode
I lol'd.
Martial arts.. ahh. If you're in for the defensive and/or harmonious ways, you should give Aikido a try =p
Also it seems that since I practice aikido, I have a lot more self-confidence, and don't get attacked.
This I sometimes feel is a pity.
I want to test my Glun-Fu. =p
But then again, I probably should stick to being harmonious...
Anyway..
Yess, I can see it now...

Yes. I agree. And this should also work like so on the enemy. It'd be nice to surprise-attack an enemy just so he's in pain and has difficulty running away, so you can leave him be as he's no longer a threat as you engage the others that were around him...Ozymandias wrote:And it would hurt a lot... make it painful to move etc.

if i know it's coming i can take it without reacting, but i was just trying to get someone to blame me for negligence.Count Roland wrote:if we hit you would you react defensively and practice your martial arts? I don't believe I'll take the chance. =D

well I'm sure your dead family is testimony enough to that.
