I think you have to set your PYTHONPATH variable.Noz wrote:It says, please install full version of python, which i have
Here's how to do it in principle (Windows): http://www.katsbits.com/htm/tutorials/b ... _setup.htm

you dont have the full version of blender? what??
EDIT: rudel, i may have unconsciously found a way around the subdivision problem, but i will need some info from Stromboli to be sure.

oh, still, why not? its free.
EDIT: ok, i think i've figured the subdivision work around out, i'll do some more digging, and post what i've got soon. i may have what i need from Stromboli already, but it'd be nice to get some info from him anyway.

Get python at http://python.org
Don't forget to set your PYTHONPATH
Lotus Wolf, awesome, looking forward to hearing about a way around this.

Re: The insanely simple blender tutorial for Lugaru modders
I've found that subdivision will work fine for models, but you have to export .x import .x export .dae
if you simply export .dae (or .x) and then convert it, it will become polygon soup.
i haven't the faintest clue why this works, but i realized it had worked when Stromboli sent me the .x file of his Falcata and Longsword, both of which used subdivision.
so when i imported the .x files into blender, they were already fixed. since he had exported the .x file, then i imported it, fixing the subdivision. that's also why i never got why it didn't work for him, as they always worked for me, since he always sent me the .x files.
So: Make your models with subdivision if that's what you like to do, then export import export
also, if the model appears ingame without half its faces go back into blender (you should keep blender open until you're completely finished) and flip the normals (edit mode; w: flip normals)

Hi gameman581,
are you absolutely sure that you've set the PYTHONPATH correctly? Please double-check. You have to set it so that it points to your Python installation directory.
How this is done is described here: http://www.katsbits.com/htm/tutorials/b ... _setup.htm
You have a different Python version than the dude who made the tutorial, of course. So your installation directory has a different path.
Mine, for example, is E:\Python25\
Lotus Wolf,
that probably means that subdivided faces have to be disjointed, meaning they cannot share vertices anymore. I have no clue why that is though, must be a Lugaru bug. Weird.

ok, I followed the tutorial, but when I click FIle --> Export --> COLLADA 1.4(.dae) that window doesn't pop up.
