Raider Campaign
Raider Campaign
I'm working on a campaign, based in the same time as the original Lugaru campaign, but from the point of view of the Raiders.
I have a few missions done (including the one where you have to slaughter all of Turner's friends and family in the Village) but there's one thing I can't figure out: Dialogue. This is obviously a very important part of the Campaign. Simply put, how do I do it?

Re: Raider Campaign
Thanks- I have another question, though.
How do I set my character to have a certain color of fur? After I set it (by typing "white" or something), I save and load the map, and my fur is brown, like Turner, again.

Re: Raider Campaign
Rename the one you want the main character to be fur3 (I think?) That should work.
Re: Raider Campaign
Wouldn't that affect other player's fur as well?
Re: Raider Campaign
No it wouldn't. I believe, the other players' fur calls textures such as "oyster", "sable", or "WB2." The fur1,2,3 only affects the player character.
EDIT: It seems I was wrong.

Re: Raider Campaign
oops, forgot to tell you to copy it first. hehe.
Re: Raider Campaign
No,I'm pretty sure those furs are ones that David made for future uses. i also didn't know about that bug, I just redo the skin if I want em changed.skraeling wrote:No it wouldn't. Also, and I'm uncertain about this, the map editor randomly saves what kind of fur the player character has. So it should be just a matter of saving it until it saves the color you want.
Re: Raider Campaign
Doesn't work. Always reverts to Turner-fur when I load the map.
Re: Raider Campaign
It could be Turner's evil twin.
Re: Raider Campaign
There are plenty of rabbits in lugaru that have similar fur colours.
Handwave it. Like I just did. Simple and rubbish explanations are always the least likely to be explored and broken!
That or the evil twin thing.

Re: Raider Campaign
That's not it:
It's based on the real campaign, so I need the characters to be PERFECTLY accurate.

Re: Raider Campaign
Convert the skin you want to .PNG format, and load it as clothes.
Re: Raider Campaign
Really? I feel like I've tried that but it didn't work. I'll try again.
Re: Raider Campaign
I think you can save a fur as clothes on "Turner" (your avatar in the game, by whatever name)...
Look up the name in the textures file; you have to type it exactly as it appears there minus ".png"
or ".jpeg" . like: noclothes, then: clothes BloodClover --if you want to play as a mangled character. then you can put more clothes on top and save that. Every piece of clothes or decal eats a little frame rate, so people with slow computers will be turning off stuff... oh well.
You can definitely save him as one of the stock colors you cycle through by pressing control-o (on a mac, don't know pc's & linux)
You can save SOME body attributes, too. I've had success saving speed, some changing strength/power, though not consistently.
You can't save size or proportion for "Turner", he always reverts to standard size and shape.
Too bad if you're trying to make your guy big or chunky or something.
