On a lot of keyboards, this is true. Not all, though.

It's right you should be looking for the Tilda key ( ~ ). But you should also have debug mode on for it to work. Debug mode can be changed in the 'config.txt' file. Be sure to make a backup first, though.

Oh, and debug only works with the full game, not in the demo...
