Black Shades on PC

Post by rkn » Sun Mar 07, 2004 8:54 pm

Well, I asked David to port Black Shades onto PC, but due to my knowledge, he has refused. Does anyone know of any Mac emulators on PC?

"If you are using an older PC (Pentium II or earlier, Windows 98 or earlier) we recommend using the SoftMac XP Classic Edition, as it is smaller and memory efficient. If you are using a more current PC, we recommend using the SoftMac XP Xpress Edition which is optimized for the Intel Pentium 4 and Windows XP, and also offers higher limits on memory and graphics emulation. A 30-day trial activation is required."

30-day activation- Any advice?

Ah, how painful. Unfortunately, theres the whole issue with the "one life" business. Although I must say- I wouldn't mind ritualistic animal sacrifices... [evil smile.]

*Wonders what would happen if Fournine got smacked every time he hijacked a thread*

I'd be forced to change my behavior so that I hijack EVERY thread.
Ah, there are times when masochism comes in useful.

No, really. I'd probably endure it and post anyway. And maybe bite whoever is smacking me... with razor teeth.... and, um... fireballs.

You sure that this Softmac XP really works? Hmm... might be easier to just take over one of the school comps... bah. Take the 30-day trial thing, and enjoy it while it lasts. Maybe you'll find something else in the time being?

I doubt David will ever port it, but the source is available for anyone else who wants to port it... Third party developers have already released a Linux and Mac OS X version, even though it was originally made for OS 9.
