Really? The CM 690 II? I haven't heard that before. Assuming I don't win I'm probably going to try to build my own computer and this was at least one of the cases I was looking at.
and..um...thanks for not banning me.

Re: Help an old community member out or win a PC
Thanks!
Just to be clear, my actual intention posting this, was that I thought people here would be interested in this contest, the rest was all just joking/goading, well mostly anyway.

Re: Help an old community member out or win a PC
Yeah by "need it" I was attempting to be funny. What I meant to say is I really want a ridiculously overpowered gaming rig. If you like that type of hardware discussion, hothardware is actually a pretty cool site. Even if I don't win I'll probably stick around and maybe try to learn...

Help an old community member out or win a PC
Hey you guys might remember me. I did a bunch fan art, still post in comments occaisionaly, but have been less active around here. Any way ...... Here's the thing. I really need a new computer but can't really afford one. Cry me a river. Then I found this giveaway from some power crazy overclocking ...

Re: Mortal Online
Kind of sad. I hope things work out for them. I was following this game for some time, they had a cool community, the devs (while not being wolfire, by any means) were communicative, and I thought they had a lot of neat ideas. I had won a free beta, but knew damn well that when it finally came out I...

Re: suggestions wanted: teaching game design to middle schoolers
Just found out I actually won't have the 7th graders, 5th and 6th only...so... yeah. I'm going to focus on Scratch for now, maybe see how much I can structure a Unity class to bring it down to level, I might have to scrap the Unity idea if its not going to work, but I'm still considering it.

Re: suggestions wanted: teaching game design to middle schoolers
DO NOT expect the students to create anything very good. Ultimately, the goal is not for the students to make the latest awesomest game, but to learn something :) Atmsosphir is the only tool that even interested any of my friends at all... Anyway, dont expect to be using unity. Unless they're just ...

Re: suggestions wanted: teaching game design to middle schoolers
A third grade girl saw me printing out the Scratch cards, and told me that she works on it at home with her Dad and loves the program. One thought I have had was that I could do one semester of Scratch, open it up to Fourth grade students as well, and then make it a pre-requisite for a 3D game engin...

Re: suggestions wanted: teaching game design to middle schoolers
Thanks Guillaume. Scratch seems far more accesible than Unity (if not quite as cool). The kids I'm teaching aren't usually struggling with basic multiplication, but they also aren't quite the geniuses they think they are either, and unlike gamemaker or RPG maker Scratch can run directly on the schoo...

Re: suggestions wanted: teaching game design to middle schoolers
From what I learned the Mac version is still in development - I could be wrong - it will run on a Mac via Wine - but I just don't think I wanna go down that road. These are notebooks that are shared between many students, and I have to be careful that I don't put something on there that will allow s...

Re: suggestions wanted: teaching game design to middle schoolers
Thanks, I hope I can do a decent job of it. I've been going through Unity's tutorials, and its not actually as difficult as I first thought, at this moment, it's looking like the way I'll probably go. I should make them do a Unity version of Oregon Trail or maybe something about leatherback sea turt...

Re: suggestions wanted: teaching game design to middle schoolers
I'm checking out Game Maker and a few others today when I get a break. I have done Stop motion animation with students before much the same way as Endoperez did except I think I used either flash or powerpoint or something to put them together. It was a fun class that I might do again, I think I did...

suggestions wanted: teaching game design to middle schoolers
I posted this on ModDB, but I'm re-posting it here because I thought I might find more help from this community: I have the opportunity to teach fifth, sixth, and seventh grade students pretty much any program I want with in certain limitations, but have been looking for something that will be relat...
