shillelagh (irish fighting stick), 3:02 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6p4Jp1he1uM Lots of pretty cool moves. Shillelagh is about a sword-sized stick, but it's held a lot from the middle. Really cool stuff, including blocks to 9 or so basic attacks. Even better, the poster has several lessons that a...

 I hope I could draw that well. It looks good, even if you don't like the shading. I've been trying to learn to draw for a few years now, and I'm nowhere near the your level, not even the level you showed in this picture and you can probably do much better. At least I'll get to do some courses...

KALARI, the Indian martial art Very lithe, agile practitioners with peculiar movements. It might inspire the way rats move and fight, or something else. For most of these videos, every "hit" is always either parried, blocked or evaded, so that the videos are full of "counters" an...

Re: Miscellaneous questions.
concerning 8, there is an old blog post that shows off turner grabbing for a random location. if this is made accessible in the editor then getting turner to grab for a specific model, in a specific way should definitely be possible, especially once you can assign physics objects to more complex ob...

Re: Overgrowth is Awesome !!!!!
7. Not really, I think the plan is to have a different animation for every weapon, and the procedural stuff will come in here again, hopefully with stuff like weapon mass, ect Spear-thrust and glaive-thrust don't necessarily differ that much, and different species' weapons will probably overlap a b...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGTkSPXIcH0 staff vs three-section-staff, 0:55 Wushu fight (i.e. choreographed). While the video quality isn't good, some of the action is slowed down. The camera follows the staff-user for most of the time. Shows how grips change all the time - sometimes the staff is...

Re: Fighting Styles
I mean with a staff, holding it with each hand about a third of the way down each side. What this does is give you greater maneuverability of the weapon. You can sweep it to either side, or use it to block a slash, cut, shank, stab, slice, whatever, etc...... I'm not sure about that. I agree that u...

Re: Animation Editor Ideas
From Motionbuilder: Legs and Hands, by default, remember where they have been set. If you pull the character upwards, the hands and legs will try to stay there, in effect being pulled down. You can press and hold 'q' to disable this for the selected bone and all of its child-bones, in which case the...

Re: Fighting Styles
For the staff. In certain circumstances, the staff could be utilized by grabbing with both hands at one end or the other. This would most likely be used as a tactic when surrounded by enemies, allowing the wielder to spin it around him in a circle. Otherwise, in 1 on 1 fights, the staff would be wi...

Re: Miscellaneous questions.
One of the two dog swords is one-handed, the other is two-handed. Spear and Glaive would have been a better example, but still far from perfect.

Re: Fighting Styles
Rightrightirghtiright, My bad, I didn't quite grasp that. Yorright. No problem. To my knowledge, there's no game that has a custom animation editor in this sense. In most games, at most you can choose which existing moves you use, which would probably be bad for MP. Nice discussions here. Perhaps s...

If you want to be able to quickly pull out that axe you gotta swap it out with the sword, or get a new sheath You can sheathe an axe? :P There are leather and cloth protectors for axes that are wrapped over the edge so it won't accidentally cut anything. When expecting battle, I understand they cou...

Re: Fighting Styles
...I think you may have missed my point. Either that, or I'm missing yours... Animation Editor means that users can create custom mods. Mods don't do anything unless you use them. Example: in a Generic First-Person Shooter Game, you can mod weapons. You can, in fact, make the basic pistol fire nuke...
