Re: Download Receiver for free! (7-day FPS game)

Maybe I'm just slow, but the Gun mechanics are really clunky for me.
Make the button for Ejecting and putting back the same!
When am I ever going to want to drop my empty magazines when I can refill them?

Also, where can I get an old version that I can see the bullets... and reload the bullets...

Wolfire Live Interview on AI Game Dev

http://aigamedev.com/broadcasts/procedural-animation-overgrowth/ In about 2 and a half hours, David is going to give an interview on how he made Overgrowth's animations so silky smooth! Sadly, you need to make a free account to watch it (and pay if you didn't catch it live). Why didn't he tell us ab...

Re: Helping my PC perform well on Overgrowth! Please help :)

Lol at 560 GTX being a middle-ground graphics card. (It's really good.)

But you should definitely consider buying one. Anything is better than that ridiculous integrated card.
You'll probably also need to upgrade your PSU to handle the wattage and extra power ports.

600 watts oughta do just fine.

Re: Some reflexions about water

That water did capture my imagination. I hope there is a sequence in the game where the water is frozen, like by a spell or something, similar to that "forever night" sequence in Zelda Windwaker. Overgrowth could be a fantastic vehicle for some surreal scenes and Aubrey does an amazing job...

Re: Physics Question (Overgrowth related not real physics)

I'm fairly certain that physics (made by any game developer who knows what he is doing) run according to a value called "Delta". To make slow-motion, it is a simple matter of lowering the Delta time to make the simulation run fewer steps per frame. I'm no expert on the subject, but it shou...

Re: Loading a new level?

I'm not sure about the level thing, but the dev team has never stopped anyone from sharing media of Overgrowth.

They would probably encourage it, considering it helps with advertising and spreading the word about the game.

Overgrowth Autododger

Ever envisioned yourself surrounded by a swarm of enemies, dodging everyone of their attacks effortlessly? Well, thanks to this mod, you don't have to! It makes perfect sense!

So you're like, in the clouds?

I agree that would be a pretty cool effect, but they have yet to implement fog.

Re: Doing a little research for a blog post.

I've been playing Cortex Command for about 5 years now and it still seems like it's never going to finish development.

The community was really big at one point in time, but it's kind of fading right now.

Re: How do I fix error?

That is, go to the Start Menu and type "run" into the search bar, and click the application named "Run". Then type "dxdiag" (without quotes) into the text box. When you are at the main dxdiag window, click the "Display" tab at the top, and tell us what your de...

Re: Overgrowth Steam Hat

You also have to understand. You're not the only one benefiting here. Those hats could serve as advertising for Overgrowth. People would see it and either look it up, or remember the TF2 blog post they saw on it, and their interest would be piqued. They would then proceed to research it some more an...

Re: Character movement issues

The movement engine is more focused toward parkouring smoothly right now. Maybe later, they will have an option in the model or something that will switch to a more precise, less parkoury algorithm. Also, this is slow for a rabbit this size: http://www.ehow.com/about_4605256_how-fast-does-rabbit-run...

They let you do this in Sandbox 2. It was a really useful feature.
