Re: Spent a while trying to figure out how to download Overg
To download the current Alpha you have to check this thread: http://forums.wolfire.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=14067 Once there, select the download option and insert the preorder code in the field. Every week, when a new Alpha build is released, a new thread is opened in the Secret Preorder Forum .

Well, then, let's increase the sample size a bit.kehaar wrote:I'm not so sure about the sample size...
I personally think this idea would be cool and somewhat practical as well, so yeah, it would be a nice feature.

Re: Spam problems
Hey, can a mod ban user zhanlin347?
I've already blocked 4 attempts at posting spam (of the "famous MMORPG gp selling" -type) and also updated its user notes every time, as can be seen in the Moderator Logs.

Re: Dev please read.
Wolfire releases video updates every week and there are already various community-made videos on Youtube, so you should be fine. You might want to stress that the game is still very much an Alpha, though.

I'm surprised no-one mentioned Okamy Okami yet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YAg2uB8Nk4 Also a blast from the past: this game is probably only known to flight sims enthusiasts from the early '90s, but it was a fun game and had a kick-ass soundtrack http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UK9yNloOrA0 Edit:...

Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Thanks for the link, but the problem with Oblivion is that I hate the entire combat system, not just hand-to-hand. Even at lower levels it feels like you never do enough damage per-hit, and I find it pretty absurd to hit a guy with a 2-hander, see him lose a sliver of health, stumble, hit him ...

Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
I hope they make hand-to-hand less useless. I want to see a Nord stand on a dragon's corpse and wipe blood and bits of scales off his knuckles. In Daggerfall I had a Breton that regularly punched ghosts and werewolves in the face. In Morrowind I had a Kahjiit martial artist. In Oblivion I cried mys...

Re: What was your first RPG game?
I just remember it was an incredibly old dungeon crawler. The first RPG I played that I remember the name was Ultima 8. And later on, having played the predecessors, I realised why people don't like it. Then there's the classics, like the always great Betrayal at Krondor and then Baldur's Gate...

Re: Arma 2 ACE BF2 PR and BRINK
Once you get used to them, it's worth it. The biggest files are new maps and an optional soundmod, so the gameplay changing mods are pretty small.Ozymandias wrote:but you're going to have to get a bunch of mods and stuff if you want to even think of touching that.
Also, Ozy, you need to be more active.

Got another one, and a repeat offender at that: jenfromcandp : multiple posts with links to the usual enhancement stuff you get regularly as spam. Edit: there are also a couple of posts waiting for approval that are, well, odd, and given that the users that posted them haven't been active, spambot a...

Much, much better. Thank you.
With the current color you still have the same effect on the reader, while not hurting his eyes.

I've approved the above post because Quack asked for criticism and Irish did a thorough analysis on various section of the fanfic while adding some helpful tips and possible changes to the story to improve it, but if you don't mind me saying, bold and bright red text are a bit painful to read (I'd h...

Re: Gameplay Perspectives- does it really matter?
I agree about first person view being important for deeper immersion. Two of the most immersive series I can think of, Half-Life and BioShock, are both set in the first person, and they both have limited cutscenes and instead focus on scripted events that happen in realtime while you're in control ...

Re: Best/Worst game endings
Besides, Kojima is an incredible nerd when it comes to cult movies. I'm betting Paramedic's movie discussions in MGS3 were written by Kojima himself.
