Re: Bug reporting station

Fixing black textures under GNU/Linux

Seems that some might have a problem with black textures when running Overgrowth under GNU/Linux.

Try to run the game with the locale set to en_US, like:

Code: Select all

LC_ALL=en_US EXECUTABLE
In Steam, the launch option would be:

Code: Select all

LC_ALL=en_US %command%

Re: Overgrowth on Linux status

My main reason for wanting to hold off on public announcements is to get all the big kinks out in the first few Linux alphas so newer Linux users can focus on game issues instead of Linux specific bugs. I totally understand that from a developers point of view, but I don't ask you to go out and giv...

Re: Overgrowth on Linux status

Information regarding the Linux build has always been available via several sources, one of the main ones I can think of being Overgrowth Weekly. Because I informed Phoronix does not mean that I'm some traitor to the forums. The secrecy is to make sure that new preorderers are less disappointed in ...

Re: Overgrowth on Linux status

That was when it was fine to do so... I'm sorry if it annoyed you, I simply think that we'll be getting new visitors in these exciting times, and the thread moves by at a very quick pace for them to notice. If someone else reminded the newcomers, I wouldn't need to annoy you. When has a notice to n...

Note to newcomers to the thread: This is a SPF-only private test. Don't leak information! Mind stopping posting that in every single post of yours? If I remember correct, you were the first one to ever leak anything. EDIT: Sorry if I sound pissed off - I just find it ironic that it's you who's acti...

Re: Overgrowth on Linux status

Just tested this out myself and I can confirm that it's working pretty darn decent. Cannot confirm here; relevant details are Wine 1.4 from source, nVidia GeForce 9600 GSO (driver version 295.20), and Debian on x86_64. What video card are you running, Marcus? nVidia 460 GTX with the 295.33 drivers.

Re: Overgrowth on Linux status

Thanks jeff. Today, I was thinking to myself: "Has anyone tried running Overgrowth on Wine lately?" Since a133, Overgrowth did not work on Wine for a long while and there were no reports on this thread to prove that it does in more recent alphas. Due to the dauntingly large initial downlo...

Re: Overgrowth on linux

Ok, everyone rejoice.. Progress HAS been made.. And no, QT isn't really an option as Awesomium is pretty well "entrenched" in the code base. BUT the latest version of awesomium actually 'Seems' to work w/o crashing the game. Anyways.. https://www.dropbox.com/gallery/3447934/2/Wolfire/Teas...

You need to preorder the game (which I doubt you have, since you're not in the preorder-group)

Only thing that bugs me is this:
