Re: Running Receiver under Linux
I just removed that one, and it worked. The others should stay where they are. As long as it works right? Thanks a lot Kota*3, it is finally working, makes me very happy  I don't see any magic in that script, so the solution is just the specific wine version 1.4-rc4-raw3 ? Yes, that's all the...

Re: Running Receiver under Linux
Thanks. I updated the script to fix it. I just removed all of them because when I tried to escape it, it still didn't work because there were other problems that I had missedXtrit wrote:The script crashed because of the " ' " in "Wolfire's" at line 20

Re: Download Receiver for free! (7-day FPS game)
Got Receiver to work under Linux through Wine. The instructions and playonlinux script are here: http://tinker.kotaweaver.com/blog/?p=223
By the way, absolutely amazing game!! It's really a lot of fun, though It's incredibly difficult.

Running Receiver under Linux
Hi there!
I modified an existing playonlinux script just slightly and ended up getting Receiver to work fine under Linux through Wine.
Here's the link to the minimal instructions, as well as the script itself: http://tinker.kotaweaver.com/blog/?p=223

Clearly with the middle mouse button... Or perhaps the Control key.Glabbit wrote:How would you fire?
Joking aside, I think it would be better if you can't hold both the gun and the flashlight at the same time. Pick your poison so to speak.

Re: Download Receiver for free! (7-day FPS game)

Re: Download Receiver for free! (7-day FPS game)
So, I reluctantly booted up a Windows machine (yup, I had one lying around... Receiver didn't work in a VM either for whatever reason), and here's my impression. First of all, amazing work. The game is such a simple concept, yet it's a boatload of fun. The gun mechanics are really quite awesome, and...

Re: Download Receiver for free! (7-day FPS game)
I don't think that's the game. You should run a virus scanner on your computer.Nilok wrote:I don't know how, but it seems Receiver is changing my Google DNS to the Taiwan version.
EDIT:
After playing the game, Google thinks I am in Taiwan and is setting my default Google page to the Taiwan site.

Re: Download Receiver for free! (7-day FPS game)
Looks nice... waiting for the Linux version :D Same here... Or at least something usable in Wine . It's close... I suspect, as Frazz mentioned a while back, the only problem with incompatibilities is the Input.GetAxis() function as described here: http://ratking.de/2012/06/07/unity3d-and-linux...

Re: Download Receiver for free! (7-day FPS game)
A mouse sensitivity slider would be an excellent addition. The turning is just far more sluggish than I'm used to. Now I just need to keep practicing until I can operate the gun without the help menu open. I thought I had it figured out until I tried to shoot at a taser drone a few feet from my fac...

Re: Problem with Installing on Ubuntu/Linux
I make sure that there's enough space available for tmp and every lua-related library is installed... and still get same error message. :( I've tried to run "sh --keep a182-linux.sh", but obtained "sh: 0: Illegal option --" as response. I'm so desperate I opened the .lua, even t...

Re: Please help us test Receiver (7-day FPS game)
Works pretty great under wine.. except that the game doesn't detect mouse movement :D I don't think it would be to much effort to fix this, though I know nothing about unity3d http://ratking.de/2012/06/07/unity3d-and-linux-support-via-wine/ I have the same problem: does this mean that there is noth...

Re: Problem with Installing on Ubuntu/Linux
I think this is that issue with running out of space in /tmp
Try running the installer as such:
sh --keep a182-linux.sh
Note that you don't need to run the installer as root: it will ask for a password part way through.

Re: Please help us test Receiver (7-day FPS game)
Just a note, it ALMOST works for me in Linux through Wine. What I mean by that is I can't get the mouse aiming to work, but apart from that, everything seems to work great. Still, not exactly playable that way
